Best Hockey Game

Crud...I was hoping to find some suggestions here. I really like hockey, but haven't yet found the ideal game for the PS3 as of yet. Anyone have any suggestions on this one? I don't want to have to wade through a bunch of crappy ones to find the good one.

NHL14 is the best Hockey game I have played since NHL94 which in my eyes was perfection (yeah I am that old). While I have not bought every NHL since but I did buy them sporadically. I never thought anything could capture the magic of 94 but NHL14 is actually better IMHO. Right now I am playing "be a pro" which is sort of a different take on the game. You only get to play your shifts. Which as dumb as it might sound is actually pretty cool. I was lucky enough to grab it off PSN for $15 but after buying it I can say without a doubt if I had paid $60 I would still have been happy.
Yeah i just looked up NHL 14 and a lot of the reviews on it have been good. I planning to get it soon.

I haven't played a hockey game in a while. If I wanted to do, I would go and buy 3 on 3 NHL. It's an arcade style 3 v. 3 hockey game, it's a lot of fun. It is a downloadable game, so it's not a terribly 'in depth' kind of game. Great for parties.
It's gotta be NHL 14. The newest NHL game is usually the best, even though EA messes up some parts of the game. If you want a very competitive, realistic type of game then there really isn't a hockey video game out there for you. But I like NHL for sitting down, unwinding, and chilling with my friends.

You don't really have any choice. NHL series is the only one on the market so there isn't a "good" hockey game. There's only one

I miss NFL 2K.
You're not the only one. 2K made great sports games. EA makes good ones too, but they're only as good as their competition force them to be. That's why the games were pretty ho-hum during the PS1 era. They mainly had to deal with 989 Sports (Sony's studio at the time) and that wasn't heavy competition.
