Best place to buy PS4 [UK]

@Madcat

Game are scammers, they only price match CEX if its in their interest. For example CEX are better than game in a lot of ways because CEX keep the price for longer. For example if game already have 100 copies of Fifa 14 in stock that's pre owned they won't price match CEX, that's an example of course but they will only price match CEX if its in their interest to do so. I was told that by a GAME employee.

I've not traded in anything since the very early days of the PS2. I was getting some truly scandalous prices for games that were barely a year old. I only ever traded in three or four games in the end because I don't think I ever got more than about £10 for anything. It simply wasn't worth it, so I just started hoarding my games and building a collection instead.

I guess Amazon! :/ .. Best place to get cheap quality products.

This is going to me the most likely place I'll be getting mine, as explained further up the thread. I just want a no-nonsense, no frills purchase where you won't be talked into spending what you don't intend on doing so. I have a £50 gift voucher saved from last Christmas still to use, saved for the very purpose of getting a PS4...

If you go to the Amazon website, select the PS4 and then go to their 'Console Shop' section, it seems there's one or two bundles beginning to appear which are getting down towards what I'm willing to pay. For instance, the console with 'The Last Of Us' is £368.99 from there... Not bad. The prices are very slowly starting to drop. Take another £30-40 off that and I'd probably finally bite the bullet and get one (the £400+ bundles are still way beyond what I'm willing to shell out - even if you do include my voucher). Again though, I'm not going to be looking around for one with any sort of commitment to getting one until at least the back end of next month. After all, I've lasted this long without one. I'm sure I can probably wait until the end of the year and see what the post-Christmas sales offer. The longer I can hold out, the better the deal - hopefully!

I like the idea of a physical retailer just in case my rubber splits (oo-err missus) on the DS4 or I get a duff machine much easier to take back.

Ah still isn't worth for me. So much cheaper deals on the web than in store and you normally have to deal with idiots in store too so it just brings down the experience. I agree though it is much simpler replacing things in store than having to send them through the post back to the online store you bought it from.

Why not hang outside of your local Pawnbrokers ( CEX ) etc and wait for someone to take in a ps4 to sell. Then offer them £20 more than what CEX were going to.... Currently £180... Saving you £150 :) I did it this way followed the lad in and as he walked out I said to him I'd offer him £20 more cash than CEX and he took it.

Worth a shot. ( even gave me his tesco receipt )
