This just shows that Sony has learned some harsh lessons during the PS3's lifetime and especially from the 360's Red Ring of Death controversy because they are sending replacement units to anyone whose PS4 has experienced the variety of failures that were reported online. It's pretty simple, contact Sony and they'll send you a shipping box. Also it seems like their offering overnight shipping of your new unit. So if you need a new Ps4 check out the article. But still it seems like their trying to live up to their claim that their for the gamers.

Great move on their part, in my opinion. It's best to get the problems out of the way as soon as possible so players can move on to playing games and Sony can go back to developing and profiting as soon as possible. Good customer service is very significant but underrated, so it's good to know they are smart enough to recognize this.

Just as they should. If you buy any type of technology and it's already broken or somewhat not working as it should be, you must have a refund.
With the PS4 it's no different. Good move nonetheless.

I agree, this should be mandatory for any electronic producer. If your electronic device is faulty they should send you a new one immediately.

It's just smart business by Sony. And thankfully they've managed to keep on top of the situation. We've seen a lot of hardware issues when it comes to launches so I imagine that Sony's PR department took notes and figured out a plan for when they would have hardware and firmware problems. They have a plan and are sticking to it. Hopefully Microsoft is taking notes because despite the PS4 problems people are still on Sony's side due to how their handling it.
