build a house

I played an MMO recently where you could build your own house. Not exactly to the same extent that say... MineCraft let you build a house, but it allowed you to set up the constraints for the building. What do you guys think about about having player houses in the game? Even if it's only like they had previously done in Skyrim and Oblivion?

I'm not sure. That would be a LOT of houses in the game, but if it worked in the MMO you've played, it shouldn't be much of a problem in Elder Scrolls. If it isn't in at launch, it'll probably make it in later updates and expansions.

I would understand a house system like in Aion. But one like in Skyrim would break the game very quick with houses all over the place

Understandable- but if you had a "home server", with the restriction of buying just one house, then that would make it pretty manageable. Then you could "sell" your house on the house market if you needed the gold. Or if you play in the arena the you could play a type of match where if you don't have the gold to bet on the game you can bet your house as stakes instead. Something like that.

I picture homes being in the game would be similar to a live lobby where it's separate from the active game, only you're allowed, and you can manage everything before returning to the gameplay server. Basically Andrew's "home server".

I would be fine if they don't have houses. I didn't like having a house in Skyrim, especially when I got a wife on there. I should have never done that, she was extremely annoying :|

I wouldn't be jumping up and down for houses in the game. I didn't even really care for all the houses in Skyrim. The first one I bought was really enough.
