Call of Duty - Seven years of Multiplayer Innovation

Watching that has made me miss the good ol' days of Call of Duty 4. I miss those days :(

Wow really cool video. Pretty fun to see how far we've come. Kind of gets me hyped for Ghosts, hopefully they don't play it safe. I think destructible environments and verticality is the next smart move for the franchise.

I miss when MW2 had so many players and it was the funnest game i have ever played seriously it was so good and now there are hardly 5k players online at any time.. its pretty sad to see.

Seven years of innovation? Quiet the opposite I would say, 7 years of dull and repetitive games. Back in the 90's and 00's good games were truly innovative. Adding a couple of reskinned weapons is not innovating at all. The original cod games were great, but the Modern Warfare series just totally killed it. The innovation in this video is a joke, the things listed are barely enough to be released as a patch or a DLC , yet alone being innovative sequels. What a joke this is.

they should re-do ww2, it got stale for a while but its been a long time since a decent ww2 game came out.
Or CoD WW1, where you fight in the trenches would be interesting and fun.

Totally agree with you here Adam! I wish they would go back to WW2. I would give the series another chance if they went back. World at War was much better then what they dish out now but that's my opinion and may not be a popular one.

It seems like modern shooters today are what WW2 games were a few years ago - old and stale.

Thanks Carl. And most certainly they should go back, not all of us want modern day shooters. I like the historical storytelling as part of it.

It's mind blowing to see how much Call of Duty has progressed. I certainly had a great time playing it and i'm pretty sure I still will. I can't wait for Ghosts to come out now.

What kind of innovation are they talking about? There is no innovation after Call of Duty 4. It's nothing more than a cash cow for Activision now.

LOL, no kidding! I really believe that they could have released 2 games instead of 7 and there would be nothing different between the newer ones and older ones besides slightly better graphics. CoD is a joke but thats just my opinion. The video was cool but maybe someone should make a video explaining why it was really 7 years of crap that people bought for some reason.

I hear people complaining that every CoD is the same.
But isnt this the same with many games?
Isnt BF3 a reskinned BF Bad Company 2,and isnt BF4 that as well?
Wont Gran Turismo 6 be GT5 with new cars and tracks?
Isnt GTA V the same as GTA IV,but with new characters and scenery?
