Could we see a AAA title coming to PS4 PS+ within the foreseeable future?

What's the theory, if you don't mind my asking?

KZ: Shadowfall was apart of PS4 bundle that most stores stocked. If it Stocked any bundle, it was going to be the KZ bundle as well as some of the others. However I believe in the UK at least most stocked, the plain PS4 with no games, the Knack bundle and finally KZ Bundle.

When the PS4 sold out on major online reatilars, many were desperate and would pick a bundle and the KZ bundle was one of the biggest and it was heavily marketed and produced by Sony because obviously it was a key launch title and sony exclusive. In turn many people bought the bundle because they didn't have a choice or because it was generally a cheaper bundle. Many stores in the UK sold this bundle for £385 whereas other bundles with other games cost into the £400 territory.

So many people were left with a game they didn't exactly want but they have their PS4 and that's all that mattered. So when people played their PS4 with a game they chose e.g. CoD, AC, Fifa or whatever KZ would have been traded in fairly quickly and then if people did play it and did the story but never liked the online then they'd trade it in. Plus like I said it was one of the big launch titles so its had more time to be traded in.

So ultimately I'm not too shocked that people traded the game in, because like I said, that bundle was one that was widely marketed and was stocked heavily with major retailers both online and in stores.

Your theory makes a fair lot of sense, Derri. It might not be far from the reality.

I actually didn't think the game was all that bad, fairly repetitive shooter though but the online was quite fun to play if you like FPS games but have an open enough mind not to think if it isn't like CoD or BF its not worth playing.

I certainly understand what you're saying, and the theory does make a lot of sense, although you'd have to look at how similar bundles did in other gens or with the other consoles in the current gen. But then again now that I come to think about it, despite it being a first party game, I don't think Killzone ever had that much success did it? So it was a sequel to a series that-at least I think-didn't do that well in terms of sales figures.

Usually a launch bundle is a game which is guaranteed to bring in the punters. Think Mario Kart DS, or 7, or even 8 which is currently launching the Wii U to actually good figures for once. Or at least, a new IP that's been made for the current gen which will get everyone hyped.

So there could be a lot to be said for your theory that it was the most traded in because of the fact it came out as part of the bundle.

Will ps4 ever get an AAA game title? (Instant Game Collection)

Instant game collection for play station 4 is just getting worse. I was expecting a AAA title for July, but disappointed. I am fed-up with these indie games :( , No one bought Ps4 for playing indie games! Why doesn't sony understand it? Will sony ever give us a AAA title??

You will get your AAA titles, but you'll have to wait. Most consoles only got their best games after half of their lifespan was over, because developers had to learn how to push the consoles to their limits. The PS4 is not even a year old. Just wait and you'll get good games. It has always been like that and it will most likely always be like that.

I've merged your thread with this one as they are both similar.

You've got to also look at the lack of PS games and bundle games. Our launch line up wasn't all that great. You had limited choices in what you could have as a bundle. I saw some bundles such as the knack Bundle, the KZ bundle and the AC4 bundle. Sometimes you'd get stores doing more than that or adding games but those were the 3 major bundles sony had made.

So its not like people had a huge choice and many were desperate for a PS4 they'd take whatever they could get.

God, I had totally forgotten that Knack was a thing. It seemed to be hyped up really well at E3 last year and then just...nothing since really. What the hell happened to that game? Also, going by the playthrough I just watched of Killzone, I've got to say, no wonder people were giving that game back in such droves.

KZ campaign was just like every other FPS game campaign, okay story but nothing fantastic.

I dunno, I'd say the campaign was pretty horrible.

The players had to literally start talking about what the hell happened after they finished playing, and eventually their chat just said, 'Okay read this and you'll know', and linked them to the Wikipedia. Once they were reading it out, yeah I could see where it was linked, but when they were actually going through it seemed to be just totally unlinked missions.

The campaign was pretty easy to follow in my opinion....

To kenslyjohn:
You have to understand that the console is too new so you won't have a lot of AAA games out. You will have to wait for a year or so into the PS4's life before you see AAA games. There just aren't enough at the moment and I'd doubt developers would let PS+ have their AAA games for PS4 just yet.

I think the indie games at the moment are great and a good supplement until the better games are out. Also remember Drive Club is a PS+ game instantly.

I do want to add on though you did have to pay a lot of attention to what was going on and know some history about the KZ franchise so it could be difficult for those who don't know or don't pay attention to cut-scenes .

Towerfall and Fez personally made me very happy with the length and quality. If not AAA, give us more high quality indie games.

I think so, maybe one or two years when the library of games on the PS4 expands. Right now, there aren't many AAA games out yet so it's difficult for Sony to put them out for free financially. They are also still quite new so it wouldn't make sense to offer them as PS+ free games for Sony. I'm want to see Knack myself but I guess in their eyes, it's still too soon.

So we're now getting a version of drive club this month which could be argued to be the first AAA game on PS+ even though its watered down.

Does anyone else feel Sony have been downgrading the content on PS3? I've been watching and during 2012/2013 PS+ on PS3 was very good and most of the games were well known and AAA but even PS3 this year has been lacking a little.

I do hope it gets better because I don't feel paying £40 a year is all that great just for the online because its free on PS3 and the exact same.

I know this post might sound like I'm an entitled gamer but I have to admit the quality of PS+ does seem to be going downhill. I mean this months PS+ PS3 is Batman Arkham Asylum but they've given out Arkham City in 2012?

You're probably right. I know I have said this before but I really think that the onslaught of AAA games on PS+ for PS3 was to get the Sony fanbase lured into a subscription before the PS4 released because they wanted to reap the same $$ for online gaming as Microsoft proved was possible. They honestly could stop giving games out and I would still subscribe. What's the other option? For xbox it was always about a great online experience but PS fans can't seem to accept that (not anyone specifically, just in general.)
