Destiny - Multiplayer Online ??

A little bird tells me that you cannot play online multiplayer right out of the box on Destiny, but instead it has to be unlocked via the normal campaign gameplay. Is this correct? If so, how and when is it unlocked??

Yep it's true. But it unlocks at about level 5 so doesn't take long at all. Less than an hour at a guess.

Is there offline multiplayer in this game? Been looking for a good shooter for the PS4, was not really that impressed with the last COD game.

About an hour or two depending on how fast you run through the first few levels. You can then level your character entirely through the games PvP--which consists of the standard FPS gametypes. It is called The Crucible. Once you go to Orbit and select your navigation, it will be the planet on the right. The game will walk you through this once you reach it.

I have just started playing it a couple of hours ago, so I don't know much about the multiplayer stuff. I am playing co-op missions right now and having fun.
