Destiny PS4 beta dates announced

Who has pre ordered the game and have a beta code? Are you exited for that?

I was thinking of buying an alpha code on ebay but since it will be ending soon (has ended?) and the beta I believe will start July 17th so I may buy a beta code on ebay.

NOTE that July 17th is the beta date for PS4 and PS4 with xbox versions coming soon after.

I'm really unsure about destiny. I might as well wait to see the full game before pre ordering. If I can get a Beta code without pre ordering e.g. win one off twitter then sure I'd like to play it. However its not a big deal at all.

I have preordered. I am soooo excited about this game. It seems to be a cross between Borderlands and Defiance. I even added my clan to this game. I know i'll spend hours with with Destiny.

I'd only play the Beta until the new Last Of Us comes out. I atill might do it. I'll decide closer to it. I had a lot of fun with the alpha.

It's kind of...worrying me that they're putting this out there so quickly. Alpha is usually in house. Beta sometimes opens up to outsiders, but the way they've been hyping up this Alpha/Beta stages is kind of worrying to me.

It's probably to see how their servers hold up against a large number of players logging on at the same time (aka release). And it generates hype compared to closed alphas.

Anyway, I preordered it and redeemed the code on their website. My friends will be playing it so I hope it'll be fun. Anyone know how long the beta will last?

Jesus, I wish I had that much to spend on entertainment/electronics.
It's actually kind of neat to see the PC guys coming over to consoles to play Destiny. They bash the consoles a lot, but come over to play TLoU/Destiny. Kind of similar to how console gamers place TF2 or CS:GO. It just shows that console exclusives are of high quality and that your gaming platform shouldn't be a point of contention.

I know, but I just find it weird. No other company does this sort of thing, even if it's just testing the servers. Although as you say, it's probably just to generate hype

I got a code for the beta, but I've yet to preorder. Waiting to see if there's some collectors edition available. I don't usually order those, but with mmos (I know they're saying it's not one, but c'mon) the entertainment value per $ is pretty great, and since you can show off your bonus swag, I say why not!

By the way, don't know if you guys have these, but there are codes that you can plug in on the bungie website for as yet unknown rewards. Found them on reddit. Here they are if you're interested and haven't done it yet.

beta dates are:

As you know July 17th is when PS4 and PS3 owners can start playing the beta.
It includes a few Story missions,a Strike mission and a selection of PvP Crucible maps.
Then the beta will go offline for maintenance on July 21 then return on the PS4,PS3,Xbox One and the Xbox 360 on Wednesday July 23.
The beta ends on Sunday July 27.

Btw if you have already claimed your beta code, you guys should go the bungie website, click on your username, go to Settings then Redeemed Codes and select your platform and region. I think it's something everyone needs to do. I'm not sure if you need it to get the code on the 17th though. Bungie just says it's one of the steps needed to get into the beta.
