I thought I saw something on my dads playstation 4 where it said playstation plus for multiplayer game play. I know on my PS3 you didn't have to pay for multiplayer on any of the games.

how new is this? I havent heard of it until now? Have not been on the Playstation for a while, so I am assuming this is something new.
I guess they need to make their money, will need to look into this. Curious to know if they took a greedy approach to this.

It's been known for as long as we've known about the PS4. So roughly a year, year and a half? How have you not known this if you have a PS4?how new is this? I havent heard of it until now? Have not been on the Playstation for a while, so I am assuming this is something new.

I'm not a big fan of the fact that they charge for playing multiplayer. Surely it costs money for them with servers and everything, and it makes them get more money outside of the one-time earning they get form people buying the consoles... But still, I don't really like it. I feel like I'd rather have paid another 100 dollars or more for the console itself, and never had to pay for the internet, than to pay less for the console and pay for the internet.
Surely a die-hard fan of Sony will protect them no matter what they do, and charging for the internet is no exception. Personally I'm not that biased towards Sony to think that there is anythign great with this... However, since Microsoft is already charging for Xbox live, there isn't really much of an alternative as far as paying for the internet goes.
