Do you drink tap water or bottled water?

I have this weird phobia of tap water. Whenever I want to go and drink it, I just imagine how slimy and gross the inside of the pipes probably are and it makes it impossible to choke down, so I bite the bullet and buy gallons of drinking water. Even if there's no difference, I just feel better.
That is exactly how I feel and I can't imagine how anyone would feel any differently. Why would you trust the water that comes out of those pipes. Do you know how old those pipes are? Why are people so gullible? It's like they want to be treated like sheep. I guess that's why all those FEMA camps are being prepared.

I talked with a friend about tap vs bottled and they said tap mainly because they feel that water has no taste so there is no difference. I challenged her to try drinking only bottled water for a few weeks then switch back to tap and let me know if they noticed a difference. She accepted and I'm waiting for the results. I think she will start choosing bottled over tap after this.

I use a brita filter...but I admit sometimes I get too lazy to change the filter or just flat out forget..

I use a Brita filter jug. I only drink bottled water if I'm going out. There's definitely a noticeable difference in taste when I drink straight from the tap and when I drink from the filter. There's no chlorine smell/taste when using the filter.

Yes, i just tried this. I reverted to tap water for a week or so and noticed a big difference. There is a smell and a chlorine taste to the tap water that you don't find in bottled water. I'm just worried that bottled water will eventually become so costly that it becomes nearly impossible to drink on a regular basis unless you are wealthy.

I need to get a Brita filter for the house, how often do the filters need to be changed?

I agree that is possible. The price of bottled water has gone up and I think that is sad. That's why I got a filter pitcher. I got tired of spending my money on botyled water when I can have the same thing at home. My wallet has thanked me.

I slam down a pint of tap water with a handful of wet concrete every morning. I call it 'the man shake'

Oh man if i saw anyone do that in front of me i wouldnt even know what to do lol. I personally cannot stand tap water as i have OCD and im not sure if that relates to this but all i can think about when im drinking it is why it tastes the way it does and how its been through the pipes and all that.

Yes, I am the same way. Tap water has a weird smell here. And it looks like it has tiny floating objects that I don't see in bottled water. Everything about tap water really freaks me out. I'm surprised that my family had me drink it when I was growing.

Glad someone else feels the same way haha :) Theres just something really sketchy about it that i cant seem to shake, so if i ever do have to drink it i just chug it in like 2 gulps heh.

Tap water for the win :D
Actually I don't really like wasting money for bottled water and I don't really spot any difference between the both. And sometimes, I don't really like bottled water and have to drink tap water.

I went to my mom's house and decided to test bottled vs tap. She had a Brita pitcher in her refrigerator and I wanted to see if there was a big difference between her tap and my tap. I did taste and smell a big difference. I smell lots of chlorine in my tap, but I didn't smell any in hers. I wondered.about this and tasted her tap water. There is also.a big difference in taste as well. Her tap water tasted way better than mine. I eas surprised by this and it makes me wonder. I also tasted a difference in the filtered water but not much of a difference. I guess the water is better where my mom lives than where I live. That's a very sobering thought. I will have to do more research on this.

Well ofcourse it could may well be.
Every area, town, region, country etc will have slightly diff tap water, depending on what they is added to it,and how much,be it chlorine, fluoride or whatever.
The tap water where I live is 'OK' but an hour drive where my parents live its defo better.

Having said that I will usually only drive tap water if there is nothing else around,or if its mixed with cordial or something else etc.
Otherwise I get bottled water for free,I have a friend that works in one of those places and I can get the ones they cant sell to supermarkets etc cause of bad labelling etc

I used to drink bottled water or filter water. But after moving to NYC, I drink tap water. NYC has some of the cleanest water in the country due to their distilling process. It saves me a lot of money by not having to buy bottled water.

Maybe I should move to NY that way I can drink tap water and not have to buy filters or bottled water again. Then again it would take a lot to move there and I don't have those kind of resources.

I very rarely drink straight up Tap Water unless I need to. Although I don't usually go out and buy bottled. I tend to filter out the water with our fridge or Brita Filter on the sink. So I'll go with Filtered Tap?

This really shocked me, I never thought tap water had that content of fluoride in it?? I was lead to believe that tap water had enough fluoride in it to keep teeth healthy more than anything, not large amounts. Even so I will stick to tap water as it means I don't have to spend money on something extra that I get given free... It's still something to think about though and I might think about buying bottled water rather than tap water when I'm out and about...

I live in a town that has so much salt underneath it that it makes the tap water taste terrible so I live of drinking water. I know it's expensive but its either that or the sweet taste of salty dirt.

Me and my family was drinking bottled water, but now we drink tap only because we have a filter from Berkly Filter Systems. We have a Berkly light which is a filter that has a light at the bottom of it. My kids love that about it. I think it makes them want to drink more water because of the light under the container. They also have personal bottle filters you can purchase. They are very good to have also. We have had ours for almost a year and haven't had any problems with being sick or anything. We also have saved so much money by filtering our own water then buying water.

Bottled water is preferred but when I don't have any at home I will tap it out. There's some water bottle with filters on it now so I think i might invest in it soon and save money and stop buying bottled water. It's also good for the environment. lol
