Do you even play Lego games?

The last time that I have played a Lego game on a console was way back in the PS1 days. I think it was Lego Star Wars if I'm not mistaken. I was mildly amused by it but I was not thoroughly impressed. There are a lot of Lego games that came out for the current gen consoles but I have never felt the urge to play them. What about you?

I played all the Lego Star Wars, it was fun playing through the story but only because I'm a Star Wars fan.

I steer clear of them, probably because I'm biased. Those games seemed too cartoony for me. If I'm playing a game I want something life-like (and with the technology we have there's no excuse as it why it shouldn't be). I don't want to feel like I'm a five-year-old playing a game Mommy and Daddy bought me.

The Lego games are fun when you're kids, but over time ...
It becomes a bit uninterested for me.

But I still have a little fun. Now we have more powerful consoles, many young people will turn to other types of games.

In any case, I never personally pay for Lego games.

Seriously though, I've had SO's who love the Lego's games. Star Wars in particular. I think its a good way to help people get into gaming. The mechanics are simple, the story is unimportant, there's a lot of humor and satire and most of all the barrier of entry is very small. You don't have to invest any time in much of a tutorial or figure out complicated controls.

In any case I don't play them myself. Though I totally would play a Sword Art Online game, via Pickicool's avi!

I've only played one of the Lego games and that was the Indiana Jones one. My brother had received it as a birthday present and I played along with him on the co-op mode. It was a decent game to pass the time with but I don't think I'll ever actually buy one of the Lego games.

I played Lego Batman on PSP and it was alright. I wasn't too impressed, but it's certainly a lot more playable than most other games that I've gotten. I'm not too much of a fan of game titles that rely too much on known brands and images, but this at least wasn't just one of those generic games that they slapped a brand on. I'd play it if I didn't have anything else to play, but I wouldn't go out of my way to seek it out, I'm probably just not their target audience.

Are you kidding me of course I played them! I have gotten basically every Lego game in the recent franchise, sure not all of them on playstation consoles but still. I've been playing them since the original Lego Star Wars on ps2. Also in more recent news I can wait for the new Lego Marvel Heroes game that is going to be coming out probably this holiday. I don't know what it is about them but I find them an easy and relaxing game to play from time to time; maybe I'm still got a gooey kid center.

I've played all of them except Lord of the Rings, simply because I haven't gotten around to it. The Lego games are good, clean (mostly) fun. They're very simple, and they're nice to play after a bender with difficult games that drain the life out of you. Since you technically can't lose, it's very relaxing--even during the most hectic parts. Plus, you get to play through some of your favorite stories and with your favorite characters, although admittedly some games are done better than others. The first game that I got 100% achievements on was Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4.

I think that the Lego games are brilliant. They can usually tell a simple but effective story through humour. The games are also incredibly varied, for example in the Lego Batman game play on land , air and water, you get to use all kinds of cool gadgets ( some that don't really make sense for Batman) and also best of all they have split screen co-op which is awesome for parties. You can just jump into it, once you play one Lego game you pretty much know how to play all of them, this makes them great for casual multiplayer.

I only played the Lego Star Wars Complete Trilogy, and it was on a whim from a bargain bin because I hear nothing but good things about these Lego games. I was pleasantly surprised and engaged the entire way through. I ended up doing, collecting, and unlocking everything and enjoying it the whole way through. Yet still, I never felt tempted to pick up another Lego game, but I respect them a lot more now.

The Lego games are great because they appeal to pretty much anyone. At first glance, they look like kids' games, but as an adult I find them very entertaining. A lot of people were happy that they started using voice acting in the games, but I think their lack of voices (or at least speaking) is part of what made their interactions so fun to watch. That said, the voice acting I've heard so far has been very good, so I'm not really complaining.

More "hardcore" games should take notes from all the exploration, puzzle solving and collectibles.

Playing Lego games is fun, if you would ask me. They are very casual and not so competitive like serious games that we play. I am nearing my 30s now (lol) but I still play them with my younger brother, because co-op gaming is always fun.

I have played Lego Star Wars, Batman, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones and even the Harry Potter series. Like how the internet meme says, we end finishing one level but smashing everything in sight for 2 hours!

The co-op gameplay is what drives me to Lego games and they retain the original flavor of the characters they depict. Like, it's awesome to be Frodo in LOTR with the theme music playing in the background or roam around Hogwarts as Potter. My only problem is that I'm not a kid anymore and I end up thinking from an adult perspective which makes it really difficult to pass levels. Should learn to think simpler because it's a must for all Lego games.

I played through this one with a friend on one computer with local coop and it was really good. The split screen mechanics are quite well polished too where if you are close together the screen joins into one, and if you walk off then the screen splits into two, a very unique concept that actually works well in practice.
