Do you or anyone you know own a "fight stick"?

I'm of course referring to the arcade-style third-party controllers that people buy to use for their fighting games. I have more than a few friends who use it for games like BlazBlue, Street Fighter, and DOA. I like the idea of using traditional arcade inputs as it's easier to execute combos, but often times I don't understand the button inputs as they are usually very confusing.

Do you or any friends use "fight sticks"?

Grew up playing fighting game in the arcades, but unfortunately i never got used to it. I even played day after day of dreamcast with one but still i prefer my dpad for the usual fighting craze.

You mean like this one?:

Either way, I find them more convenient to use especially when playing fighting games like Soul Calibur, Tekken, Street Fighter and the likes. Also, playing PACMAN is so much better with the "Joy Stick" haha. It really was the stick of joy back then. (woh! that doesn't sound right at all). Anyway, if you are playing RPG type of games, then you should better off using the normal controllers that we have nowadays. :)

The First One showcased on the posting above mine. I have one and I love it and that is the only way to play a fighting game... the only way. I am somewhat addicted to Street Fighters and Mortal Combat and Tekken and stuff so it made sense to invest in one. If I did so while cackling that is my business.

My friend has one, I think he got it with Street Fighter IV when it came out. It's easy to use and durable, I recommend it if you're the kind who breaks controllers while playing combat games. It also bring back the arcade memories :)

Yeah, playing on an Arcade Stick is much more convenient than playing on a normal controller (as what I have mentioned before).
But it sucks having to change from one controller to another when playing different types of games. So I always end up playing using the normal controller with the analog (and by the way, the PS3 that I am playing on is not mine, it's my friend's) haha.

I never got used to playing on a fight stick, as I rarely would play fighting games at the arcade because I never was that good. Often times, if I tried playing fighting games at an arcade, I'd just end up wasting tokens because I'd only ever reach a certain round when playing alone, or will definitely lose if I got challenged by a more knowledgeable player. I got way better after years of playing at home with a controller, though, but by then I've gotten so used to using it that I just couldn't bring myself to use a fight stick. Still, I hate most modern controllers even more than fight sticks, and would rather use the ones that have most of the buttons in front like in Sega Systems.

Yeah, I have a custom made stick based on Madcatz' TE stick, only infinitely cheaper, heh. I also use octagonal gate instead of square, because.. I don't know, I got used to it, and I don't really care for replacing it that much. I still have to dual mod it, though, but I'm not sure if it's worth it, since most people I know only have PS3s.

I never owned one and I don't know any friends that own them. I think it would be cool even though I suck at fighting games, I still like playing them though :)
