Do You Still Play PSone?

I would if I could, but my PSone got wrecked during the recent flood. I tried to salvage it, and I tried to get it repaired, but to no avail, it was pretty much dead-on-arrival. Upon hearing the news that my PS1 was dead, I cried deep inside due to the fact that I had countless memories of playing with it. I specifically remembered a game called Chrono Trigger where I got really addicted to it. It even reached to the point that I skipped mass just to play the damned game. Those were fun memories, but I guess I have to move on.

The one thing that's worse than that is when you can't transfer your PS1 data to your other console. It happened to me when I played Suikoden 1 to load it on Suikoden 2. The memory card got corrupted and I wasn't able to load the darn thing.

Yep, I have my PSOne from October, 2000 like when the PSOnes first came out and my original PlayStation from early-mid 1999 and I still play both to this day!

Those were the days when you went over someone else's house to play games. You can still do it now, but it seems like more of a hassle now that there's online multiplayer. It's also cool to see other best friends on here. Tomba used to live a block over from me for years. Met him shortly after PSX came out--he had a Saturn/PSX and I had an N64. Used to play all Sega over his place and all Nintendo over mine with some PS thrown in here and there until I got my PSX.

No, unfortunately, I no longer own a PS1 or PS2. I held on to the PS2 for a very long time, but ended up trading it in on a second PS3 device for my son's room. He now has the PS3 and an Xbox 360 while we have the original PS3 in the living room for adult game play and family game night...plus it's a heck of a bluray player. Anyway, I wish I still had my PS1 and PS2 systems as I completely loved them both. But I guess every good thing must come to an end.

I don't play my PS1 anymore although it's still in one piece and works.

N64 had all the better wrestling games is why everyone played over your house. That and Mario Party and Mario Kart. My house was just Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter, and Tekken.

I wouldn't say just Tekken, the other two yeah because...Mortal Kombat and Virtua Fighter don't have Paul Phoenix.

I still and have always used my PlayStation 1. I must have 50+games to choose from so I am always entertained. You should be ashamed of yourself if you have you PlayStation 1 stowed away, just playing :p

Sadly my PSone has not survived the flow of time :( I still play a lot of the games on PS2 and emulators though, especially Final Fantasy games.

Every now and then yes I do play. Its usually a one a year thing though. Just to see if my PSX still worked, I hooked it up a few weeks ago. Didn't read the disc. Guess from sitting for 10 years, it was bound to happen. Then I turned it upright and loaded Wipeout right away. Man I missed playing that. If I play PSX now, I usually just throw it in my PS2. I have no reason to hook up my PSX.

I have a fair number of PS1 games downloaded to my PS3 and Vita. The last one I actually played being FFIX. As for firing up a physical PS1? Nope, just don't have the space to hook that up anywhere.

I do play it once in awhile, I can be really nostalgic at times. So many memories with it I hate to leave it sitting in a box in the closet. For awhile it was my best friend!

PS1 classics of the SN store are basically identical to what you would get from putting the original disc in your system. No need to hook up the old PS1.

I would play it if I could only find it. I think it was around the time when we were moving from our old house into the new one I don't think that I had ever seen my console after that day I will tell you though I think that if I could find the console that I will definitely be playing it and enjoying some of those games, old games that I used to play way back then. I have a friend that still has his console though and we still play it from time to time. I really still lime the console and what it has done for the world of gaming.

Funny, I was playing Resident Evil 2 this morning and came in and remembered this topic. My sister brought over her husband's psx from college and it ran just fine and hearing the old sony jingle was so nostalgic it almost brought me to tears. Haha, I'm pathetic.
