I recently subscribed to Playstation Plus and so far I think it is really worth it. The free games are great, as well as the full game trials. It is nice to have all your games updated and the saves uploaded as well. For about $60 a year you really can't go wrong by ordering it. What do you guys think?

It sounds nice, but it's not for me. I just want to buy individual games and play them on the console. I don't really care much about free games and upgrades, and I especially am not a fan of paying extra fees. I see how it's useful though, and I may join the bandwagon soon when I find enough time to tinker with these things, but for now while I'm busy, I'll just stick to playing games on the rare occasions that I get free time.

Yep. I'm a Playstation Plus member and it has been worth it. The games, discounts, exclusives are great. A lot of games I have played through the Instant Game Collection which I would of otherwise not played and have turned out to be great. I'm interested to see what the PS4 will do with PS Plus.

I have just never felt the need to subscribe to PlayStation Plus. I think that a lot of the discounts are just not good enough and the subscription price has never seemed worth it to me. I don't use the PS Store all that often to look to buy things either, so this is another reason why it has never really appealed much to me.

Been a Plus member for the first 5 months this year, but didn't renovate because i already owned all the games that were going to be released for free. But i do intended to join again next month or something like that.
Yes, I am subscribed. I think it's a lot better than Xbox Gold membership to be honest. Also, with the new policy for the PS4, and how you need to be subscribed in order to play multiplayer is another good option. I've been paying for Plus for a while now, so I don't see myself stopping when I get the PS4!

I have been a plus member for a year and it has been more then worth my time and money. Every month Sony offers free games and better discounts for the PS3 and PS Vita. Why would you not be a plus member? Also when you become a plus member it transfers over, if you purchase the PS4, and if you solely play multiplayer like me, then it is required anyways. Do not think, just go to your local store and buy it.

There are certainly more perks to PS+ than Xbox Live gold, but a PS+ subscription isn't required for online gaming. I generally don't care for online play with PS3 games, but to be fair I don't have many PS3 games overall. Most third-party games I buy for the Xbox 360, since I've had it for much longer. On the other hand, there are a lot of excellent discounts that I wish I could take advantage of, but I don't have a subscription at the moment.

What free games are available for PlayStation plus subscribers? Are there free games available for download each month? I'm actually against a paid monthly subscription I just want to pay for what I use and not pay each and every month. Still, I'm going to weigh the pros and cons. I can't dish out 60 bucks a year if I won't make the most of it.

Well you could always sign up for a free 30-day trial of PS Plus (I believe it's a Facebook offer) and see what you think about it as a whole. Otherwise you can just purchase a 3 month membership. Each month there is usually between 2-3 new games for free released. Next month for us (in Australia) we are getting Battlefield 3, Saints Row The Third and Payday: The Heist for free. Previously we had Uncharted 3, LittleBigPlanet Karting, Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection and many more.
Now, when I say free - what I mean is once you download it, as long as you or somebody on your console is a member of PS Plus, you can play as long as you like.
Also, there are free PS Vita games too, but I do not own a Vita as of yet so I can't tell you what games/offers it has.

Yup, I definitely feel that Playstation Plus is worth it. There is just so much content available that the value that you can get out of the service is more than what you pay for it.

There are too many benefits and free games are fun for all players (BF3 or Saints Row 3).
It's already better than giving AC2.

Not anymore. Not because it's a bad service, quite the opposite, I used to be subscribed to it for years but now I don't play on my PS3 all that much so I don't really see the point. But still it's good to be able to pop in a couple of times a month and play multiplayer for free for a couple of hours , which is not something that you can do on the Xbox 360.

I was subscribed for a little bit but ended up not careing enough to purchase any more months after that. I got PS+ when PSN had that little hacker fiasco and then decided to buy another few months but after that I didn't really care for it anymore and was fine with just being regular. While I think it's a pretty good deal if you spend a lot of time on your playstation I just didn't feel like it was something that I used often enough to make it worth my while.

I am not subscribed to the Playstation Plus but I have deeply considered it a few times. The benefits such as the free games are great, it definitely seems like a good value. I believe everyone is going to need the service for the PS4 though so ill get it when I get the PS4.

The free games are the selling points for me, really. I usually already own 1 or 2 of the games they offer, but its that 1-2 that I don't that are pleasant surprises for me. It lets me try something, discover a new liking, and at no extra cost or inconvenience.
It also gives my PS3 something more to chew on since there is so much memory that is unused on my 250 gb. A measly $5 a month is totally worth it. The cost of a good sandwich will get you a lot of high profile games that still sell for way more than $5 anywhere else. If you are a fence-sitter Keep an eye out for the upcoming download announcements, and weigh the options then.

At first, i thought hey, free games? that's good enough for me. Until the membership ended, you cannot access your "free content" any more. You basically have to get a subscription to play free games. Seems okay in the first few months but becomes annoying after a year. I rather buy a hard earned copy of a game rather then wasting my money on a membership. Kinda reminds me of the Xbox live membership.
