Do you think multiplayer will be like the gameplay video?

We've all seen the gameplay video of multiplayer for Rainbow Six: Siege by now. Things ran smoothly and the team worked together in unison to try and save the hostage. Does anyone really think online multiplayer matches will work like this? Obviously, teams that work together will have the best chances of winning, but I still feel like a lone wolf could run off and take down the enemy team with enough ingenuity or simply with enough firepower. How do you think the developers can avoid letting the game turn into lone wolf tactics? I really want a tactical game, so I hope they avoid this problem one way or another.

Yes, yes I do. Rainbow Six has always catered to strategic and or tactical players. A team in Rainbow nine out of ten times, will win against a single person. A lot of people, new to the series, would pick it up and put it down. If they keep it as close quarters as it is, I highly doubt anyone will be running off solo that frequently if at all. Have you ever played a Rainbow Six game? If the community from the past holds up--and we have all been waiting for a new game--then you can expect people to play properly and as a unit.

The gameplay here reminds me of CS:GO, actually, and while doing stuff on your own in that game is possible and does indeed happen, ultimately it is the team that plays like a team that wins.

Yeah it also reminded me a lot of CS:GO, even the HUD looks similar, but Rainbow Six is a lot more close quarters in my opinion. In CS:GO there are long lanes where people will try to kill their enemys with precise shots over long ranges like middle or long on de_dust2 or yard on nuke. I don't think Rainbow Six will have those long range fights at all.

You took the same thought right out of my head chap! I agree that this is a concern for me with this game too, however wonderful it looked. It looked to me the only way to get the most out of it would be as part of a team. I mean can you imagine 6 randoms, some who can't even speak your own language playing a game like that together ???

This is why i rave about TLOU MP as it's managed to bring people together irrespective of language.

As for this MP game i really can't see how this mode can be played by anything else than a team. However, the Rainbow six game usually have many MP and Co-op Options so as long as there is still a lot of other modes to play, and not just this one, i personally would still be interested in this game mode... Slap the game mode Terroist Hunt on and cha ching.... i'm in! :)

Back in the day I was part of a competition clan for Rainbow Six Vegas. The team that was best prepared was the team that usually won and lone wolf tactics never worked. During defense assignments are given, and our team never left those assignments. On offense each player had a specific task, and never strayed from that task. What we found that didn't work, we would adjust in private matches, retest them in public rooms and implement them in the clan battles. This was one of the reasons we were successful. An example is one of the casino maps had three levels, and my assignment was to cover the fast ropes at the elevator. There were two others that covered the hallway leading up to the elevators. If we did our job right the rest of the team covering the bottom level would never see an opponent. Playing a match while you stare at a hallway with the possibility of never seeing an opponent may not sound like fun, but as a team it worked and we won. Finding people that will play those standards is tough. Hopefully this R6 will continue that tradition.

This. I have never enjoyed competitive play as much as I did in the Black Arrow days of Rainbow.
