Do you think that the Vita still has a chance to really take off?

I think that once the Gaikai servers are up this will open a lot of doors for the VITA. However you will need a solid internet connection speed to play at an optimal level. They also need more interesting titles to come to the vita but, dev's won't give the time of day to the vita because of the fact the consumer numbers are low.

I was little bit shocked at how good the Vita is (just got mine)

please go play Tearaway on a vita and its breath taking beautiful crafted game.

What is crippling the vita, is its price and price of the memory cards however I've just googled
And noticed it's gone down to £148 with Tearaway:

People to pick this up!

A friend showed me Tearaway's trailer and it's pretty much the only thing that would move me to get a Vita.

I sure hope the little guy isn't doomed. I just bought mine :(

I'd cry if they discontinued it. And no one wants to see me cry lol

If it's ugly sobbing, no one wants to see that...with the snot bubble and bellowing and shit. Please don't discontinue the PS Vita.

My brother is getting everything but Tearaway for his Vita. I told him that it's just about the most unique game out for it. It's like Sony snagged a Nintendo company and said "Make us a game that actually shows what the Vita can do. Do it now!"

After the recent articles I've read concerning the performance of PS4 to Vita streaming, I now have no doubt that it will be selling a lot more. However, if it will "take off" is still unsure, in my opinion. I think it's just because everything is way too expensive, and for the price of setting up a Vita with an online subscription and its proprietary storage card, people can just opt to buy a phone instead since it will end up costing pretty much the same. I really think the key is for them to start cutting the price down, although I'm not entirely sure if that's possible.

If the price of Vita dropped it would take off like funnel cake. If they just have too many Vitas that aren't being moved (which could be shown by packaging it with the PS4 in a bundle) they could whittle some off the price.

Agreed! Seeing as they are starting to bundle, it seems probable that they can and probably will cut the price at some point. I just hope that they cut the price on their data cards too, as I think it's a major factor in deterring people from buying it. I personally would love to see the Vita take off and get developers to back it more.

My brother mentioned that those data cards are quite a bit. Forgot all about knocking the price down on those as well.

I'm not going to lie, I don't think the Sony Vita has a chance against some systems. However it really depends on what you enjoy playing, because I know a lot of gamers that like handheld systems and then there are those who enjoy consoles. Me personally I enjoy consoles that is why I could never really own a Sony Vita.
