Do you think the PS4 headset is... rubbish?

With nearly every console that we buy, it never comes with a decent headset, and I think we can say this is the same with PS4. Its basically just a single ear piece with a tiny mic. Yes, it works. Yes, it's simple. But really!? It's not very good and i think the PS Eye or a decent headset should be recommended to PS4 fans.
What are your views?

The PS4 headset is pretty much ass. Headsets on new consoles are meant to hold you over for more expensive ones that do largely the same thing.

It's simple and it works. A headset only needs to do two main functions and like...two or three other ones unless you're looking for a traffic reporter headset.

I am not a fan of the headset. But I never am, I mean it works and does the bare minimum until I can get a better one that isn't going to cost me more than I'm willing to pay (I am a bit cheap). But it functions. Let's face it Sony and Microsoft could include better headsets with their consoles, they don't because they want us to buy the $60 headset that they make.

I don't use headsets a lot, but this one gets the job done. I can hear them and they can hear me.

Now for someone who wears glasses I actually prefer these ear bud style to that of which came with the PS4. The reason I liked it was because every headset I ever used always caused my pain due to the way my glasses would dig into the side of my head after an hour or so of playing. I can't say that the PS4 mono headset is the best thing I've ever used sound quality wise but I do really like it.

Well in all fairness they aren't designed to last years, its a headset that comes with the console. I mean its like what Xbox used to provide, it was rather cheap and nasty and you'd use it until you choose to get something better. Plus these aren't like regular ear buds, it isn't designed to be treated as harshly as ear bugs are treated.

I hate the headset, Turtle Beach for the win! They should have just partnered with Turtlbe Beach and saved a bunch of trouble for us gamers. I would pay extra for an awesome mic.

I'm not a major fan of the headsets that come with consoles but they usually do in a pinch until I can get one that I really want and everyone has suggested some pretty good brands. Turtle Beach is a great brand but if you're looking for something a little more affordable then I would suggest iFrogz.

I never even took it out. I have a pdp wirless headset. Unfortunately the USB dongle wont fit in the ps4 due to the slanted front of the system, but I can just wire it to the controller and it works great.
