Does this damage my ps4 console?

I left my PS4 in standby mode and went to sleep, woke up the other day and found out my parents turned off the power switch while my PS4 is in standby mode, went to turn it back on and it restarted and did a rebuilding database and gave me a warning message of turning it off when the ps4 is still blinking and everything is back to normal after that, how do i know if my ps4 is damaged from this? should i be worried?

Doing this "MIGHT" damage your PS4, but the possibilities are low.
As you said everything is back to normal so no worries, just avoid these kind of accidents from now on.

you should be fine. I have had this happen a few times, and never had data corruption.

The big thing is, if you allow updates to install while in standby, you may have corruption if the system is turned off while an update is installing. Even though that is a handy feature, I turn it off for this reason. I only put my PS4 in standby to charge the controller and my headset while I'm not playing.

does turning it off while in standby mode only damages the hard disk?(if it really does damage it)

Hi,

You will get an error message if you hard shutdown the PS while its either in sleep mode or turned on. It can be damaging to your hard drive in the sense that files can become corrupted.

However the chances of it doing permanent damage to the extent your PS no longer works properly and it can't repair itself is very very low.

I wouldn't worry about it. I leave my PS4 in standby and when our power goes off or whatever, the same thing happens. It rebuilds the database to make sure everything is as it should. My PS3 had to rebuild the database dozens of times after the power went out or it froze and I had to hard shut it down. I've never had any issues.
