Doom 4 Beta Access Bundled With Wolfenstein

Wolfenstein: The New Order will be available on May 20 in North America, May 22 in Australia and May 23 in Europe according to an action-packed new trailer.

Bethesda's upcoming shooter will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on that date, according to the video below.

But that's not the most exciting part. Additionally, pre-ordering the game will grant you access to the beta for the long-absent Doom 4, which has apparently been retitled "Doom".

I wasn't too thrilled with another Wolfenstein game being developed, even if it is by Bethesda, but I do like having beta access espeically to a new Doom. Hmm, might have to reconsider my strategy now. While the above trailer was interesting, the gameplay did not look too impressive in my opinion, but I'll reserve final judgement till a later date. What about you guys? Any plans to pick this up or pre-order for the beta access? Let us know in the comments below!

But you might buy Wolfenstein anyway, then it would be a happy bonus! I think they are the people this is aimed at, not an attempt to bribe people into buying it. It might well have that effect on a few people though.

I would but I wouldn't make it a day-1 purchase, again, I'd probably wait for the price to drop, and by that time the the beta for Doom would have already been released and closed

Return to Castle Wolfenstein I liked,but the 2nd game 'Wolfenstein' I didnt much.
So still curious to see how it goes,read and watch reviews. I may get it,if not then perhaps I can buy a Doom 4 beta code on ebay

I might do down a similar route. Maybe play the game through gamefly and buy a code on eBay.

Well Doom 4 was cancelled so news about a beta was a suprise. The news came with the fact the game is now simply called Doom. Who knows, maybe it's a reboot

Thats nothing,microsoft make a console called Xbox One,lol..so that means when referring to the original xbox we cant say xbox one,or people may think you are talking about the new console,so for the original xbox you would have to say 'first xbox' or 'original xbox'. But no longer can the original xbox be called xbox one....arghhh

I'm kind of looking forward to new Wolfenstein even though I liked being a POW who escaped this place after defeating Robo Hitler and making off with more gold and treasure than even an Olympic-level athlete wouldn't be able to make off with. I'm somewhat interested in Doom. Could be a reboot.

As for the naming and sequels:

I've always been confused when the title sequential order doesn't match up with the actual chronological order of the game. I can understand the developer/creator just thinking "This would be a great to add to the story" but don't name it as a part of sequential part and say "Well PS4 Forum II took place after PS4 Forum IV, but before PS4 Forum I. PS4 Forum III was really just a kind of side adventure of KHJ that took place after Haze escaped Oberon's clutches in PS4 Forum IV. PS4 Forum V is the prequel to the entire series. PS4 Forum: Revenge Best Served Cold doesn't follow the main story and there's inconsistencies, but since KN1GHTMARE was in PS4 Forum III and V, it's kinda canon? PS4 Forum VI is an entirely new story and features none of the people from the first five games."

Now the entire thing is in out of whack order...Capcom and your Street Fighter franchise. Like the animated features of Street Fighter II V and the Animated Film are what I go by even though it's like Ken and Ryu don't even acknowledge Chun Li even though they spent a summer with her in II V...nevermind Alpha since it kind of throws everything out of whack in the animated features. The games make sense with the Alpha series somewhat, then you get into the main numbered franchise and Final Fight.

Wasn't Doom 3 a reboot, it was a retelling of the original Doom with more of a plot. I hope the MP is a lot more interesting than the one in 3.

You're right, it is a reboot. Why would they call it Doom 3? Bethesda might as well call this one Doom 4 if it's another reboot.

At least they're doing a clean reboot now and not tacking a number on the end. Probably mean the sequels will be subtitled. That said, I always preferred Wolfenstein to Doom when it first game out.

I didn't think a reboot was really required for their of those films. I also don't feel an actual reboot is needed as Doom 3 wasn't bad. A new Doom game is needed, yeah but a reboot after a reboot is like...I don't know.

I feel reDoom will be good and that it could be the thing to move some copies of Wolfenstein. I always liked Wolf, but reDoom is the more interesting of the two here. It could be good, but Doom is Doom...besides when people weren't killing zombies non-stop in FPS they were killing Nazi zombies before that and Nazis before that.
