Doom?

Does anyone remember this game and how retro it is, you can still get it on steam for about £5.99 bit expensive but its a legendary game for how old it is, i used to use like cheatbooks for the best guns :)

Haven't played it before because I knew that first person games in consoles before the PS2 era always gave me a headache. I have seen some videos of the game though and I'm not impressed. If I have played the game a decade ago, I still wouldn't be impressed. A lot of people liked it though.

I bought Doom on PS1,(still have it) never played a Doom game until then at loved it back then.
I did get Doom 3 BFG Edition for PS3,I enjoyed that and it also comes with classic Doom 1 and 2.Havent played those on the disc yet though, not sure if I will.

Yeah Doom was definitely a game that was ahead of it's time when it was released. One of the first 1st person shooter available. I can still remember playing the game for the first time and just being in awe of how great it was. It's amazing to see how even though 1st person shooters have come so far, they still take elements from Doom all the time.

I only realised recently that doom heavily ripped off the original wolfenstein, doom got a vast majority of the glory as well.

Indeed, people usually refer to Doom as the true first FPS,or 'corridor' shooter as they were called, but yeah,it was defo Wolfenstein 3D.

Was a great game and revolutionary for its era. Wouldn't spend money on it now though.

I know its so expensive for how old it is and the graphics arn't even good so 5.99 is not worth it maybe 1 but not 6 seriously way to expensive for that type of game.

I had Doom as well. I originally played it on the PC like most people. For its time it was very groundbreaking. Today though, I would not be bothered to play it. I definitely would not spend any money to obtain a copy of the game. I don't think I could be bothered to play the sequels nowadays either. Is it me or did anyone else start to grow out of shooters right around the time that the Doom sequels arrived? The only ones I've enjoyed since (first person shooters not third person) are Goldeneye and Turok.

Doom was something I played to death on my PC when I was younger. Well, my PC and my GBA. I loved trekking through Doom and Doom II to pass through the time.

I enjoyed it all over again when Doom 3 BFG Edition came out. I was overly excited to see Doom games (let along I, II and III combined into one collection) coming to the PS3. I grabbed that from PSN and spent who knows how many days having fun with those three games.
