Dualshock 4 Lighbar Solution

I'm confused, I don't own a PS4 yet, (I will in a few weeks) But how can a light that faces away from you, bother you?
Plus, isn't the light a PS move, just built into the controller??
When games come out that use the sensor, it'll come into it's own, surely.

The light is very bright and can reflect in the screen if you have everything set up a certain way. I game in my living room on the couch so my TV is about level with the light. These cut down the glare a lot. Also I would not enjoy playing Outlast or horror games with a dumb blue light shining out.

Fair enough. My TV is far enough away & high enough it won't be a problem & there is nothing to reflect the light back, in front of me.

Oh cool. I hadn't seen those before. I didn't know that the lightbar was a distraction, though it's probably because I don't have a PS4 yet. But this seems like a simple solution that looks good and serves a purpose. I like the idea and it's very brand aware. Where can you get those? If you've already posted that, I apologize for missing it in advance.

looks hella cool but doesnt the light bar serve as a recognition component of the controller? Seems like it would interfear with data transfer...idk

I fitted mine and then went to the Playroom to see if the vinyl had an effect on the controller....it still picked up the controller and motion sensor. I do not have a camera so cannot say if it will effect that though....

Awesome Jimbo. Thanks for the testing of it. I do have the camera but ill just test with some electrical tape.

Thats really cool, still can't beleive there is no option to turn off of the lightbar on this design but I like the decals though...

Would be nice but from what Ive read this will never happen.
As has been said, tape is a solution or you can buy those cool lightbar decals that can cover up as much of the light as you want while having a cool word or logo on it.

Yea I was looking at them earlier. It is tempting to have a custom one made, but I'll hold off for now. I don't think the light would bother me as much is it were a little more reserved. The size of the bar just feels like an overkill.
