Not at the mall my GameStop is at. I work there and its a nasty dumpster. Catch some unknown disease there, lol.
Around here the Goodwill's throw out a lot of cool stuff, but you have to be careful when you get it. Some of the local stores here press charges for dumpster diving. I did find out that it is Goodwill's policy to throw out anything that has a hard drive or flash memory that can not be easily pulled and thrown away. So PS3's, and 360's, computers, SD cards... they are all suppose to be thrown out.
So, instead of selling them and getting use out of it, they throw them out in the dumpster. I know they do this for privacy reasons and people can pull personal info off hard drives....but if you throw them out in a dumpster, anyone who can rub two braincells together will take it out of the dumpster, go home, plug it in then have your information.

The manager at the local store told me the policy is that anything with a memory is suppose to be thrown out, but then she confessed that they always plug it in to see if it works and what kind of stuff is on the disk (pictures, music, videos, etc.). I found it very hypocritical that its okay for them to search the devices yet they cant sell them.
They aren't looking to see if it works. They are looking for porn![]()
