Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring

Do you remember the old PS1 game Ehrgeiz? I remember playing this game for the PS1, especially its Quest Mode where you control one character and feeding him to keep him from getting hungry. Ehrgeiz's Quest Mode, which is a PS1 exclusive, is similar to the Tekken Force mini-game in Tekken 3 as well as the Chronicles of the Sword in Soul Calibur 3, not to mention that it was a joint project of then Square and Namco. There's also the character Godhand who is Ehrgeiz's answer to Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama. If there's something else, the presence of FF characters in a fighting game have later been incorporated into the Dissidia franchise, so Ehrgeiz is somewhat the forgotten precursor to Dissidia.

When I played Ehrgeiz, I have not yet played any Final Fantasy game. I didn't know of the characters before but I found the fighting engine to be a lot of fun. I was a kid back then and I enjoyed being able to run around the arena and dish out different kinds of attacks. However, as I played on, I felt that the fighting system was not deep enough. Still, it was a great game.
