External Disc Drive

Our son just bought a new PS5 Console without the disc drive. He's excited and he waited forever to get it.

I was wondering if there is an external disc drive that can plug in to play games / dvd's / blu-ray's? I read that there might be a Sony add on drive?

Nope. Have your son either sell it, or return it. Hopefully its not past 30 days and he has receipts.

Once he has $600: Get the main disc system, not Digital Edition.

The box art for main is WHITE. The Digital Edition is BLACK.

Its better to just get a separate regular blu-ray player for playing movie/TV video discs.
Don't need discs for games - they are all downloadable directly now.
