Favorite oldies games?

I remember a LOT of PS1 games fondly-- but my favorite is probably the Spyro the Dragon series. I really miss playing those games! I tried playing the Nintendo DS version and it's just not the same.

What's your favorite old PS game?

I'm a Frogger nut from way back but I didn't like the sequel. PS1 was where I started on the driving games-Formula One, etc. They were the first ones I played outside of an arcade, as I am sure was the case for most people.

I LOVED Spyro! My favorite PS1 games were the Tomb Raiders - hence my username. I have a PS2 now and I still have all the old Tomb Raiders for PSX - well, almost all of them, lol. I have Tomb Raiders I, II, and III. I'd love to have the fourth and fifth ones if I could find them!

If Final Fantasy VIII and oldies game? If yes, then I think it's one of my favorites of all time. The graphics are just way better than FF VII and at that time, it just blew my mind. The back story is also good, but FF IX beats its predecessor in terms of plot and of course visual design.

Spyro and crash bandicot(not sure if spelled right).

I never got to play any of the final fantasy games or kingdom hearts. I seriously need to buy them and play them lol.

Oh man, Vagrant Story is one of those games that it gets better every time i play it. Seriously, why isn't there at least a remake of the game? The combat system is awesome and the story/lore/characters are good enough for another game in the series!

My favorite older game(s) for PlayStation were the old NBA Live games. They used to be so great. They actually started out for Super Nintendo. Seems like they got worse and worse over time though and they changed the name a couple years ago. Now It's all about the NBA2K games.

Final Fantasy VII is one of the best RPGs for PS1, but the only problem lies in the files getting ruined on the Memory Card. That's why I always save more than one file in case one gets corrupted.

For PS2, I'll go for FFX as it's truly a classic game, as well as GTA: SA and VC. Dynasty Warriors 4, Manhunt, and Soul Calibur III get honorable mentions.

Spyro was one of the first games I ever played on ps1. The game was amazing, and now that I think about it, very nostalgic. That game got me hooked for years.

Legend of Mana, Spyro, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature and Final Fantasy 8 are all up there as some of my favourites. I still play them every once in awhile too :D

Legend of Dragoon.. the story is superb and the battle system is not so bad i wonder why this game put up on the mainstream on those days

WWE Smackdown. Still remember my friends and I trying the wrestling moves in real life back when the craze was at its peak. I got the game by asking my friend's brother to buy it for me due to its rating. Nothing more fun than pure and simple wrestling.

Oh my, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. I couldn't get enough of that classic game. I still play it sometimes on my PSP. I'm trying to marry the hero to the Goddess. :)

I really loved Spyro as a kid. It was a fantastic game and I hadn't played anything like it before. It boasted some great levels
and mechanics and it was fun having to collect all the items. I played many in the series back in the day, unfortuently nowadays
I don't like what they've done with it.

I also loved the original Tomb Raider games. Again it was a game type I hadn't really played before and just loved it. I love Lara
as a character, even though she didn't have much story or character back then I loved the that she was this British and beautiful
woman who could kick a**. Also I found it rather funny locking her butler in that freezer.

Spyro The Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, Gex, Tekken 1 and 2, Medievil, JetMoto racing, .... The list goes on, and on. :_)

That's why I've been a little hard on Sony the past couple of years because they came in the industry with very unique games and then all of the sudden lost their ways but its good to see them kind of getting back to the winning formula.

Azure Dreams all the way! It's the best rogue-like game that I've ever played. I loved that game so much that it reached to a point where I didn't even want to socialize with my friends anymore! I can proudly say that the game defined my childhood. Heck, I think it is THE game of my childhood! You should check it out if you have the time.

Some of my favorite oldies games are all the Final Fantasy series, Zelda series, Contra 2, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Sim City Classic, Civilization, Crono Trigger, and Super Mario1 and 3. I remembered playing these cool games! :o

My favorite would be Spyro : The Dragon as most people said. I have many hours logged into it, and it was probably one of the games I played the most during that time. I still remember bits and pieces, but a lot of it I forgot already. I remember there were mazes, and all different sorts of puzzles. Really great game. Nostalgic as well.

The oldest game I could remember playing is PAC-MAN. But later down in the years came The Mario Brothers on Nintendo. I remembered when my parents surprised me one christmas morning with a Super Nintendo and my first Super Mario Brothers cartridge game. One of my favorite games was Super Mario Go Kart Racing. From ever since I felt in love with their games and continued playing with my siblings.

What I love about Mario Kart there's many ways to play this game. You can use weapons in different ways to defeat your opponents by aim for the lead, drift and boost or play it safe in the back to boost forward to 1st at the end of the race. You can take the safe route or you can take the shortcuts. It doesn't matter how you play as long as you reach the finish line. Mario Brothers is still a blast from many years and even better than before. :D

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it so far, but my favorite game from the PS1 era would definitely be something from the Ape Escape series. For those unfamiliar, it's essentially a game where you explore various famous locations in history and use a plethora of gadgets hunting down monkeys! If you've played Playstation All-Stars, it's the game that Spike originates from. The story was great in those games, and I really enjoyed all the different gadgets we were given to chase down the monkeys!
