Few important questions before buying my PS4 console

I'm new to all those consoles world, the only console I had was the PS2 which is clrealy OLD!!
I have some questions that really bother me before I buy the PS4.

1) I heard Multiplayer isn't FREE in the PS4 but there's 14 days free Playstation Plus. Some people said that after the 14 days I can create new Playstation Plus account and again get 14 days.
Some said I have to change the region to Japan/Brazil. If anybody know how to do it please let me know :)
2)What's the differences between the PS4 models- PAL/NTSC/NTSC-J. I'm from Israel and I'm not sure what should I buy.
The NTSC-J is way cheaper than the others, but I heard that the buttons 'X' & 'O' are switched. Please tell me the differences .

That's all guys <3

1) MP is not free and you have to get PS+ to do it. I dont know how many times you can use the 14 days trial, but I think it should be once, it also requires you to give your credit card info first.

2) PS4 regions are mentioned as 1,2,3 so no more pal,NTSC J and stuff like that.
Region 1: US,Canada, Japan etc...
Region 2: Europe and Middleeast.
Refion 3: China and some other asian countries.

Considering you are from Israel I think you better get Region 2.(look for which region has warranty in your country)
There is no major difference between regions, the MAIN DIFFERENCE is that Region 3 has reverse place for O and X buttons (in normal case X is down and O is on the right but reversed in Region 3) Also you might face some restrictions on online content.

All games are region free so it doesnt matter which region console you have or where you get your games, it is all playable everywhere.

As I mentioned for Bluray, there is no NTSC/PAL stuff, so I dont know the equivalent.
Blu-ray_regions_with_key.jpg

What you can do is to look for below logo on bottom of PS4 package, you can know the region that way.

First and foremost, the important thing is which region has warranty in your country, so check that first. Based on the region map you are region 2.

Is it possible to check the model/region when I turn the PS4 on? I mean on the settings or something. To be sure the seller sold me the right model.
Just to be sure again, which model is the one with the opposite buttons? The only diffrences are the Blu-ray & buttons?

I would still suggest buying the console from your country, should anything happen its easier for warranty.Rather than having to post the console to a diff country as you would have too.

While games are region free DLC isnt usually,so if you get a game from one region, any DLC bough for it would have to be from the same region.(usually)

As for PS+..You could use 14 days trials over again but as you said,it would have to be for diff accounts so you would be creating new accounts constantly.

I called some local stores , most of them sell the NTSC. average price to be honest.
NTSC means Region 1 right?
He told me the PAL cost more and he doesn't sell much of the NTSC-J (god bless lol)
What do you think guys? Buy the NTSC? I mean , I know warranty will not be in my country but to be honest I never trusted those warranties.

Well thats a bit weird, you see, NTSC is US/Canada, and NTSC J is Japan, but as you see in the map, they are both region 1 o.O

So I think if we translate your local store, NTSC would be region and PAL region 2?

Still I think the safe bet would be to go to store physically and check the bottom of the box.

When you get your system and find out that the plug won't fit you will have to go out and buy an adapter only to plug your 110 volt NTSC console into the 220 volt outlet in your home and watch it turn into a smoldering pile of plastic. At that point I am sure you will be thinking "I don't think I saved any money". Yeah, I am pretty sure you want a PAL system ;)

PS Don't be a dink and keep taken PSNid's. Nothing worse then finding a ID you want with a level 0 and 1 game played. If you don't want to pay for online go PS3

LOL, Now that you're saying it i'm a bit scared :D
NTSC-US/Canada
NTSC-J- Japan
PAL-Europe

If I need an adapter for NTSC it means i'll need this: wss421.jpg

From what I read the adapter just allows you to fit the plug, It does not change the current. You might really want to look into that.

Well, what you're saying is really interesting and I really want to check it before I go to the store. Because I don't know if I can trust them (the warranty has nothing to do with them so he doesn't care).
What comes on my mind is, if it's a bit problematic with the US plug, why would he sell it in Israel? :x

ps: good point bro, thanks : )

one more thing, do I need to have something special with my T.V? It has HDMI ports but does it need to do something with the PS4 Model (NTSC/PAL/NTSC-J)? or any T.V with HDMI will work?

NTSC stuff is a picture format not related to outlet or electricity o.O

btw just go to the shop and see the PS4 in person, also if you can take pictures of everything and post it here, you can get more decent help.

Again PS4 regions are not defined by NTSC/PAL etc... so I kinda find it weird that the seller tells you like that.

Any game will work? No matter if I have NTSC/PAL and buy another model's game? What's DLC?
You think if I get the adapter it will be ok?
I'll go next week to the shop, i'm just gathering as much information as possible before the day I go and buy it.

ps: Any CO-OP games in PS4? I'm not sure it's the correct name but I mean games I can play with my brothers on same console+screen . Split screen or not.

Well it would be sort of stupid of Sony to release a 240 volt system in N/A or Japan as our outlets other then for a kitchen stove or cloths dryer are 120 outlets. It would also be stupid of Sony to release 120 volt systems in region 2 as those countries use 240 volts. There is a reason for the number on the globe. As mine clearly states 120 volts on the bottom and not 120/240 I am thinking it has something to do with the power supply. So while NTSC may be for picture the countries that use the NTSC format have a different power supplies then the PAL version. Look on the bottom of yours. what does it say don? I bet it says 240. I bet it's a PAL version. o.O

Actually I wanted to prepare a picture of my PS4 box but already moved to storage room, so I dont feel like going and picking it up.
Mine is Region 2 and 220V, so you might be right on that part. I didn't know US is 120V though...

All games work on all PS4s, not sure if that changes in future, but it was the same on PS3 till the end.
DLC is sort of expension pack, you pay for it online and download it via PSN. it adds additional content to the game you already own. kinda stupid, I never downloaded any DLC, it works best for MP people as they are required to purchase maps and stuff in order to be able play online with no problem.

I think COD: AD has split screen co-op. I'm not sure if any other game has it. new games dont focus much on local co-op :(

One more thing if I get the NTSC model will online/multiplayer games will work if I use that in Israel?

I am sorry if I ask some sort of stupid questions but i'm here to learn before buying PS4 :)
Hmm, I've been looking on some sites and I didn't see much game with CO-OP, my question is why would I need 2 Joysticks if there are just few co-op games?

*shoves ds game in disc slot*

Actually once me and my cousin did that with a Sega Genesis, we shoved a nintendo's cartridge into Sega's slot and was expecting it to work.

For FIFA ofcourse! :P

You can play online with any PS4 in any country but you have to purchase PS+ subscription.
