Fight Night Round 4 - Best Game Ever

I've recently been able to play Fight Night Round 4 again (properly & with more time this time around), and I just have to say that I enjoyed it so much that I thought it would be worth a mention here. I've only ever played this recent version and the previous one, and the difference is incredibly massive, and with all due respect with all involved with Round 3, I'd have to say it is almost nothing compared to Round 4. I am not even a boxing fan because I favor MMA a lot more, but I even prefer this game to the UFC video game.

I played as Ali and it really felt like I was playing using his style, and furthermore, I had to, since it was the best and easiest way to win because it utilizes his strengths and minimizes his weaknesses. The same goes for when I used Tyson. Also, I think it is very much worth noting that the story mode is super awesome, and without giving too much away, by the end you'd be feeling like Rocky because the story and game mechanics mesh very well and feel so immersive, and I'm not even a big fan of cutscenes either nor gimmicks, of which this wasn't one. Anyone else here a fan, and if so, what are your favorite features of this game, and did you like it as much as I did?

Did you ever get around to play Fight Night Champion? Heard that was pretty good too.

I never played FN Round 4, but I did play FN Round 3 and enjoyed it. But being able to fight it out between Ali and Tyson sounds great!

Never got much into boxing video games, but seeing how i quite liked Wrestling games back then i think this would also be a fun game to try out. Will try to get a copy in my next batch of buying games.

I love the Fight Night series. I first played Fight Night Round 2 on the PS2 and when the franchise moved over to the PS3, I was immediately wowed by its graphics. It's almost painful to watch the replays of punches being thrown because of the facial damage incorporated in the visuals. FN4 is great as well as FN Champion I prefer Champion though because of its added story mode. I wish that they would incorporate WWE style extras. That would be pretty cool.

I actually might have been mistaken, as I was referring exactly to Fight Night Champion as I wrote out my original post and I just assumed Round 4 and Champion were the same thing - my apologies. Nonetheless, FN Champion is the bomb! I swear the story mode alone is worth buying the whole game for, even if it is a relatively short story you could probably finish in one sitting. But when I was referring to playing the story mode and feeling like Rocky, I was referring to this one. Definitely highly recommended by me, and yes, playing as Ali or Tyson here will in fact make you feel like Ali or Tyson.

A story mode that makes you feel like Rocky?!

*runs to the store to grab a copy*

Yes! I cannot stop saying good things about this game, and I do indeed recommend that you give them your money and show support so hopefully they will keep making them and that they do it this way. I've seen some comments that FNR3 was better for some people though, for some reason, it boggles me to pieces. Anyway, hope you do get it and like it, don't blame me if you don't though lol. :D

I'm sure I will. Next week I'll see if I can hire it out and give it a go. Might have to Youtube it and find some gameplay :)

Here's one fairly brutal scene from Fight Night Champion that ought to make you wanna grab a copy.
Warning, don't watch this without your parents beside you kids. It's a little bit too violent for little tykes.

Wow. A long way from Fight Night Round 3! Rocky meets... Prison Break?

Thank you for that Lindbergh :) Going to look up a couple reviews now.

*Flys off to Youtube*

Nyahaha, yep, the character is in prison. So you could say that it's a bit like Prison Break. It's not as clever as the hit TV series but it's great. Fights can get brutal too. There's even a bare knuckles mode where you could really do some heavy damage on your opponent's face.
