Gamestop Managers get Free PS4 + 7 games

Wow, a good time to be a gamestop store manager. I'm friends with 2, though I doubt I can honey either of them out of a PS4. The list of games is also pretty sweet: Killzone: Shadowfall, NBA 2K14, Madden, FIFA 14, Need for Speed: Rivals, Battlefield 4 and Beyond: Two Souls. A good PR move by Sony, in any case, as I'm sure those people will be a lot more motivated to vouch for the PS4.

Is anyone one here a gamestop manager getting in on this bonus?

I'm just gonna apply now just so i can get my free games then ill resign after i have my games :P that's awesome they could just sell those games for money or play them if i was them id play them.

That's crazy, good for them. I'm with you guys, is it too late to hand in my resume? You can bet those managers are going to be real nice when they talk about the new consoles to possible buyers.

I wish, I was one of those managers lol. That's the benefit of working in a game industry - you get free games and consoles.

Well, I'm not a manager (or a Gamestop worker, to begin with) and I don't know any so all I can do is envy them now! Well, I would do that if I wasn't so lazy, but, well, yeah.

One of the perks of being a manager. You get a lot of stuff for free. Maybe it's time for me to have a career change. Goodbye academe. Hello Gamestop! (In my dreams)

I honestly don't care about how people think of GameStop which is why I have tried to get hired on there, but this is just one more reason to keep submitting my resume in there. The pay isn't the best, but it would be something I actually enjoy doing and occasionally some pretty nice perks.

Wow. That makes me want to be a store manager in the worst way. Think about it, how hard can those jobs actually be? Not very difficult aside from a few angry customers. You can spend your free time playing game demos at the in-store stations and reading video game magazines. Hell, I'd almost pay them to hang out there all day.

The real question is why is this happening? Is it just to make the managers more knowledgeable about the hottest new system on the market as well as the games to be sold with it? It seems really unfair to me.

I know a couple of devs who are getting them in middle sept, sadly at the time there not going to get much playable code as it's only to check for UI errors/usage, and to see if there is anything that needs a massive change in that area, playable code should arrive to the devs on the first october days.

Wow...just wow. I'm so jealous of their job right now!

That's one hell of a perk. Pretty much the best as it can get for being a manager. A new generation console at launch PLUS 7 games? That's a complete treat.

Lucky sonsabeaches.

I work in a IT department of a big company and I wouldn't mine get a part time job for a PS4. I wonder do they get them after everybody else has got there pre -orders. This is a pretty sweet deal. But how often does a console really comes out. Being that manager would suck until the ps5 comes out again lol. Maybe its pretty cool to be a manger there.

Considering that my area store is hiring managers, maybe I should consider applying....

I've never had a console influence my decision to apply for a job before, but now my interest is seriously piqued. I'm so torn...

But seriously, that is awesome. I'm super jealous! As it is, I probably won't be able to afford a PS4 until next summer. :(

Wow, what an amazing thing for Gamestop managers. Still, as much as I love Sony, this is pretty underhanded. I'm sure Gamestop is gonna step up their PS4 promotion and move units now that they're actively getting free stuff.

I agree, that it is a great day for any Gamestop managers. I know they get deals and rewards all the time. I would love to be working alongside Gamestop. It could possibly be the best job you could ever have.

Wow, those are some managerial perks. I wonder how my manager friend at EB Games feels about this. Hopefully he gets a little something for the hell that is about to break loose in the next two months.

Is this the first time a gaming company, or any company has done this? It actually sounds like a really good move and will probably only cement Sony further in the hearts of gamers. They are really putting salt on the wound of MS, and I can't wait to see how it plays out once the results come in.

Good ply by Sony to say the least. They have learned from the last gen mistakes. Now we are talking. They are implementing Microsoft's strategy now.
