Has anyone bought a refurbished/old game from Gamestop? There's one near where I live but I've never bought anything electronic used before. Did you trade in your old one or just keep both?
The only refurbished electronics item I've ever bought is a computer. A lot of people avoid them, but if it's factory-tested and you get a major discount, it's worth considering.
I've bought many games from Gamestop (games that were previously used). Nothing refurbished though! I tend to stay away from something that was refurbished - just don't need anyone else's headaches!
I have not bought a big console from Gamestop, but I have bought a handheld system from there. It worked great, with no problems. I have bought many used games from Gamestop, too. No problems there, either.
I believe, I could be wrong though, that even the refurbished consoles, come with some kind of warranty. I do not want to risk it, so I always buy consoles new. I play the consoles I own enough, to justify the cost. I do buy loads of used games, from Gamestop, and only had one problem. I took the game back, and they gave me a new one, so just keep your reciepts!
Thanks everyone. For a while the Gamestop near me was selling PS2 games for 3 for $15. It was unbelievable. For those of you that go often keep your eyes open for little displays like that. The games don't have the original cases but if you can pick up a bunch you could probably make a killing on Ebay-especially if you print off professional-looking CD case labels.
I might be wrong about this, but I think some refurbished consoles have never been used. However, I don't guess there's a way to know for sure. If it's something you're going to get a lot of use from over a period of time, it does make sense to buy new as long as you have a decent warranty.
