Gran Turismo 6 Demo coming next week!

Next Tuesday, 2nd July, at 9.00am BST you will be able to get your hands on the demo for Gran Turismo 6. It promises to be a tantalising glimpse at what we will see when the game takes to the starting grid later this year. The even better news is that the demo is free and doesnâ??t require ownership of any Gran Turismo product.

Whatâ??s more, if you are in one of the GT Academy regions* then the demo could also be the ticket for your chance to race for real with Nissan.

The demo is structured as a GT Academy-style driver training concept where you progressively learn the skills required to push very expensive track monsters at full speed round impossible apexes. The course where the action takes place is Silverstone, the spiritual home of GT Academy (and one of the brand new confirmed GT6 track locations in GT6).

In GT Academy regions, once youâ??ve cleared the earlier rounds you will then have your shot to post your time to the leaderboard and see if you have got what it takes to progress to the next stage.

Regardless of whether you are in one of the GT Academy eligible countries or not, once you have proved your skills and made the grade through the initial rounds you will unlock special bonus content.

The demo will remain live until 31st August 2013, but if youâ??re in the GT Academy hunt you have until 11.59pm BST on 28th July 2013 to take a step towards a chance of a real life racing career.

I haven't played since Gran Turismo 2 (I may have played 3), but I've always considered them some of the best racing games out there. The problem is that, while I enjoy racing games, they don't really hold my attention very long. I'm also not that good at them, so I tend to just mess around more than anything else. Gran Turismo 5 is on my list of games to buy, but I just haven't gotten around to it. I'm looking forward to the GT6 demo, though, so I can see how far the series has come.

Nice, looking forward to is since I as well haven't played a Gran Turismo game in a very long time. If I'm not mistake, the last one I played was I played as Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2. I will admit I have never been the biggest fan of racing games but I do think they are good way to pass the time when don't have any other games to play. One thing I wonder though, is why it wasn't released on PS4? I guess because Sony are betting on Driveclub to keep players satisfied until Gran Turismo 7.

Actually, it is coming to the PS4, it just won't be soon so I expect something like a Gran Turismo 6: The Complete Edition.

I thought that GT 6 would already launch next week. I was surprised and read the headline again. And I said, "Oh, it's just a demo." The developers of Gran Turismo seem to have all the time in their hands. They just make a Gran Turismo at their own pace. They don't mind how long the world waits. All that matters is that they make the most beautiful racing game possible.

This is great news! I have always been a big fan of the Gran Turismo series, and so I will be sure to check this out. I also can't wait to see how Gran Turismo will play on the PS4 too!

Already tried it out, and yeah, it's short (don't know what i was expecting for a demo). Feels and plays like Gran Turismo, don't know how to describe it better than that, the only thing i can do is recommend you to get it when you can, it's only 1gb, so you can get it fast and try it out.

I tried the demo and like it. You can start qualifying for the GT Academy so it's a good teaser, I found myself practicing to improve my time. I'm currently a bronze cup holder so I don't see a real Nissan in my immediate future.
