I've been playing Gran Turismo since it was first released on the PS1. It was THE racing game to have during the day. It had everything that race buffs would want in a game. Besides, there weren't a lot of options back then. Flash forward to today and we'll see that there are now a lot of options for race fans and the craving for Gran Turismo is not as strong as it was before (IMO). So, what should Gran Turismo do? It should have fixed some things that were glaring weaknesses before.
In fairness, Gran Turismo 6 is a great game. Everything about it is better than the previous versions. But... there are some glaring mistakes that still need to be addressed. The driving AI for instance is not reactive. It's like the cars are driving in a predetermined path. That's it. This has been the case with all the GT games in the past. Next is the car damage. It sucks. With all the realism the developers have put, it all goes down the drain when you see your car careening to a wall at maximum speed without getting much damage.
