To be fair, it all didn't begin until GTA 3 when things finally went to 3D. The first two GTA games were decent but would have been nothing but footnotes in gaming history if not for what came after them.
Lol. Yeah, I never really got into this game before. I said to myself "What the heck? I'd rather play a 3D game instead of this top down 2D GTA. It had a cool concept, the blueprint was there, but it wasn't fully realized until the PS2 came along.
I played a lot of this game as a kid. I had no idea what I was doing, but it was just fun to try to find different secrets here and there. I am pretty sure that I never even completed one mission. Oh well, it was still a good time. They are worth looking back at to see how far the series has come.
Oh my god, this game was the bomb back in the day. as a kid, I was playing it the whole time and never understood what was going on, I never cared about the missions because I wasn't good at English, all I did was making trouble and start a car chase.
Does someone know Crime Wave on the Sega Saturn? It wasn't an open world game, you only had several quarters where you were supposed to complete missions. It has this odd isometric angle and really bad ratings but I liked it. Was GTA for people like me who hadn't a PS1 or a PC back then.
I never played this game either. I would play it though. I am always open to playing new games, because I love to see where games started and originated. I enjoy playing older games because of this.
It looks so weird with the overhead camera, doesn't it? Funny story behind this game for me. I bought it at KB Toys at the local mall with my father. When we took it home and opened up the case, there was no disc inside! So we took it back to the store and asked for the disc. They wouldn't give it to us so we threatened to take the matter to the Better Business Bureau. We did just that and they didn't do anything about it. So, we called the store and said we were taking the matter to small claims court unless they gave us either a disc or a refund. They still wouldn't budge! We ended up having a court date and time set. A store representative showed up and gave us the cost of the game before the actual hearing started!
