GTA V - Your first impressions!

Ok guys, so GTA V has been out for a couple of days now so let us here your first impressions WITHOUT SPOILERS.

Currently, I think I'm a little over 40% of the game and I have to say, this game is absolutely amazing. The graphics are pretty good, I love the characters. The only downside is that there is soooo much to do! - well that's not really a downside is it? :p The mini games feel like full games in themselves, especially Tennis. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous! I know after the story is finished I'll be exploring every nook and cranny of the map. I'm in love with this game. Believe the hype.

Is it better then GTA IV? A million times better. Better then GTA: San Andreas? I don't know. It's too close to call. Is it better then Red Dead Redemption? Personally, I still prefer Red Dead Redemption, but this game would be a extremely close second.

Let us know your first impressions!

I don't know if I can give it an ultimate judgement yet on how good it is compared to the other games. Already, I like it more than GTA IV, though. I was up most of the night last night playing GTA V and there's still so much left to do. I'm still in the honeymoon phase. I will have to report back after I've done everything there is to do.

The game is absolutely amazing and even better than i thought it would be honestly! As you said, the graphics really are astounding for being such a large scale game and there is just so much you can do! As ive said in a different thread about this game though i really really wish your characters wouldnt change their clothes by themselves when you switch between them, it makes me feel like my customization has no point and i keep having to come to my safehouses all the time to change them. 2 other issues i have with the game is that 1. I feel like there should be more taxis around. I know they added the feature to call the taxi service and everything but those taxis actually take around 10-15 seconds to show up, whereas in GTA IV you could pretty much always find a cab around. My second issue is i feel like killing people is kind of bland. They still have pretty nice ragdoll effects and such but i wish if you shot someone in the head they would twitch a little or there would be blood squirting like in their other games. Sure it sounds brutal but cmon you guys know you liked it ;) Other than those small things, the game is amazing and definitely worth the buy! I recommend anyone who can to get it!!

I am not that active here anymore, because I have having some real good time playing GTA V. It's more awesome than you can imagine. I can guarantee you that. The world is as beautiful as it gets. I haven't completed any missions yet as I am really busy in shooting random people.

I watched my friend play today, it was my first time viewing the gameplay right in front of my eyes. I have to say, it was absolutely stunning. The level of detail is so hard to describe, because it is so rich and full. With the map being as large as it is I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy and start exploring.

I think there might be missions, but right now I have other things to do. That said I am thankful this is more like the older games then the rather recent GTA IV. The graphics are alright, but what has me so engaged is that it's a world - you really feel like if you took off in any direction you could keep going without ever having to stop. Even better if you want to play the most violent edition of Sims ever, go for - the cops aren't likely to be your close personal friends, but you do have the choice. What else? Oh! My worries about the radios and such are apparently unfounded, and the various activities are fantastic. Thankfully (do to the no spoilers thing) it's probably best I've been ignoring missions (outside of those that unlock things), but I might need to play around with them just so I can do a better review later.

I got it delivered on Tuesday, and it's one of the first games I've actively played on launch day in a VERY long time. It's a great feeling knowing you're playing a game the same time millions of other people are.

Anyway, this game improves literally EVERYTHING about GTA IV. I didn't care of that game very much, it was just too dark, grey and depressing. GTA V feels like a breath of fresh air in my different aspects. It's bright, colorful, filled with stuff to do and freaking hilarious. I don't wanna spoil any story stuff, so I'll just say that it's already turning out to be my favorite game of the last two generations.

I can't stop playing it. It is so good but I am only 20% in though. At least the gang is together now, sort of. I still need Franklin to meet Trevor but it is all good. Only now I have a FIB agent on my back. So I guess a bullet should sort out that problem in the future.

I freaking love this game, well worth the years wait. I'm around 30% through and savoring every moment. There's so many things to do with so little time. The graphics are amazing, and the map is so huge it's crazy. If you haven't gotten the game yet, you're truly missing out.

I got the game since two days, and you know how much of the story i did? As much as needed to play as both Michael and Franklin.
Do you know how many hours i already have in game? 35 hours!

Just exploring everything, doing side stuff, enjoying the place, godammit i love this game!

The desert area is so vast and open that it's almost TOO much. I don't care though, I'm gonna be playing this game for a LONG freaking time.

Well, as long as humanly possible as a dad can get away with :P

I'm around 53% :p

Yeah i think im around 45%. It makes me sad and happy at the same time :/ I really hope the game doesnt just fly by yknow? I guess i should probably lay off the story missions but im so eager to see what the next heist will be!

You lucky dog... somehow the preorder I ordered didn't even come through... and now I'm think of just cancelling my order and buying it from some other place or just borrowing it from my friend after he's done (he's at maybe 45%) with the story.

Did you get the Collector's Edition, because if you did, i would tell you to reconsider, those things are disappearing quick, so you need to take the chance and wait a little more for yours. The pre-order blimp is totally worth it!

Me too mate. The story is so good. I'm around 60% now, and I haven't just been doing the story missions, I've been doing everything. Cruising around, stranger missions, random events, mini-games, everything. I think last I counted, I've played around 27 hours so far. But I'll be playing this long after the story.

Yeah same here man. I really need to start doing the stranger missions but like i said the heists are just really cool and im always eager to see/do the next one so i keep doing the main missions. I seriously need to force myself not to xD. But yeah ill be playing long after i beat the game aswell for sure. Also i cant even imagine how fun the multiplayer is going to be. I should probably look this up but im too lazy right now but i REALLY hope they keep a free roam game mode (which im sure they will but at the same time i wonder how theyll be able to set it up considering the map is so massive!) I also hope the ranking system isnt crap like GTA IV was lol im crazy about having my character look the way i want and getting to level 8 on GTA IV was hell

Well, I hate to bring bad news to you, but there is a trophy in the game for getting to Rank 100! So I'm guessing it will be a looooonnnnggg grind. And I really do hope there is a free roam in GTA V. I don't see why they couldn't do it. But who knows.

Just checked my stats after playing this arvo and am currently 72% through. I've done 60/69 missions so I'm getting to the end. Which is a shame, but hey - what I've been wondering is what DLC you reckon they will release!
