Have You Ever Lost Your Favorite Video Game?

Well the title of the post speaks for itself but I was wondering has any of you guys ever lost a game that you really liked? Did you go and buy it back or did you just leave it as it is. I remember that I had just bought the Sims 3 and I lost the game a couple months after just getting it. So I just went to the store and I got myself another copy of the game. I had alot of my friends hate me for that because they just thought that I could have saved the money.

Have you ever lost a game that you really loved and have you ever gone to the store to buy another copy of the same game?

I lost Diablo II years ago and wanted to replay it. I rebought the Battle Chest and, about a week later, found the original Battle Chest in an old box tucked in the depths of my clothes. Now I have two, proudly on display, in my room.

I havent lost a game but I did buy Rock Band 2 on PS3 again as for some reason my original got a small crack near the center of disc and so was unreadable.Dunno how that happened as Im careful with discs in putting them back in the cases.Maybe it must happened when I put it in the case though? Or it somehow formed itself ..ha..I dunno.
Has never happened since.
Anyway yeah.I ended buying it again, that was before RB3 was out and plus I hadnt finished it and I really wanted it again.

I didn't lose my favourite game but my copy of resident evil 6 stopped working for some odd reason shortly after I bought it, it had a huge scratch that I didn't notice when I bought the copy (brand new) and after two uses it stopped working.

I knew the scratch must have been on it beforehand because no other disc had or did afterwards break in my machine so I assume the scratch was there from the start and being in my machine made it worse.

My original copy of GranTurismo got scratched. Bought another copy. I mean, my mommy bought me another copy :)

I never lost it because 9 times out of time it would be in the system. I did have 2k13 (basketball) get that circle or ring around it but this was on xbox. It didint work anymore. I hate that fact about xbox when the games can easily get messed up inside the tray.

I really hated when I lost a video game that I really liked to play. Sometimes I would really feel like my life was over. I kind of always felt a little stupid when I would go to the store to get the new game I dont know why. I think this is why I am really protective about my video games and who I let trouble them.

I don't think I've lost or damaged any PS3 game that I've owned. Certainly none that I can remember anyway… I've always been very careful with my games and I'm sad enough to have them in alphabetical order. They always go back into the box once used and unless I know I'm going to be using it again the same day, I'll 'file' it away with the rest.

I know my Tomb Raider 2 disc was so well used that I think it really did begin to wear out. It become a pain to get past the very glitchy title screen (jumping music, flashing graphics) but by then I was upgrading to the PS3 and it was no longer compatible anyway… Strangely it never effected the game itself – only the main title screen.

(The only game I've ever 'lost' was when I borrowed Boogerman for my Seag Megadrive in the early 90's, but that's another story for another thread...)

I'm not sure if I lost it or someone stole it from me, but I had Midnight Club Los Angeles and it was my favourite racing game, but after some time I realized I didn't have it anymore. I've accepted it now, but I still wish I'd know where it is.

Yes! It happened to me before. I was in love with this game called Super Robot Wars Impact on PS2 years ago. And somehow one day I lost it! I don't know what exactly happened but it was just gone and I looked everywhere. The stores where I lived did not have any copies of it so I had my friend from Malaysia send it to me! Yeah I know, I was desperate.

I recall that I had recently purchased Fallout 3 and I lost the amusement a few months after simply getting it. So I simply went to the store and I got myself an alternate duplicate of the amusement.

I will never forget the time when I lost my NBA Live 2003 (yes 2003) when on the way back home after purchasing it. I was so pissed because it took me quite a while to save up money to buy it. When I had enough money again, I bought another copy and guess what? My sister broke it.

Final fantasy 7, rebought it for like $90 on eBay then it came out on the PSN store shorty after for $10 lol

Had my original PS2 collection stolen... I had like 35 or so games not including my ps1 games that were also stolen...
Since I started rebuying em I have most of them but I still have a few that I don't have yet that I really miss..

Yeah I lost my copy of Saints Row The Third on my PC. I didn't have it on my PS so I had to go for the PC version and it's fairly cheaper. So it's typical for me to install the game and I would just either give the game away or let my friends borrow it and so I did but I had to delete the game off of my hard drive without realizing that I don't have the installer anymore.

I didn't actually lose them, but they got stolen. I lent my Assassin's Creed collection to a friend about a year back. It was all the games from the original up to AC3. To make a long story short, they broke into his apartment and stole most of his electronics, including the PS3 and of course, my games. It was an unfortunate event and unfortunate timing, but I'm glad that was all that happened and he was safe. I never bought the collection again, and I don't think I ever will. With all the Assassin's Creed games coming out in the near future I see no need to.

I remember I lost Fallout 3, I loved that game so much and it was my favorite game of all time. Soon after, I bought it again, and I ended up losing the case, but not the disc, so I had to keep the disc in a paper envelope if it wasn't in my PS3.

I remember I lent a friend my SNES Final Fight game and when I asked for it back, he said he'd lost it. I asked him how he'd lost it, and he told me he took his console to a party and some of his games just disappeared. I kind of believed him because I know how things go in a party, but I just stood there waiting for him to say something like "don't worry, I'll buy you a new one" or something, but that never happened. I stopped lending my games from that day on.
