Help me please..PS4 not accepting discs

Been playing PS4 over the weekend no problem. However this morning, it will not accept any discs - it makes a whirring noise which then stops and will not accept any disc into the slot.

Has anyone got any suggestions please before i go through the rigmerole of contacting the supplier.

I am reading about Digital copies of the games i have - can i still play the games even if the disc is not in ?

For me I would only advice you to push the system harder, push around, call the manufacture for some guidance and if this fails you should send it. I don’t think there is anything that else that can solve your problem since most times such faulty issues are related to the hardware rather than a usual overheating.

There was a video on release day of someone who had this issue.. It sounded like the disc reader was having issues, but never saw any follow up on it.

Best bet is to take it back.

Agree,I think your only course of action iis to return it and go from there.

Hey flot i had the same issue what i did was after it whirs then stops unplug the power cord, then plug it back in the playstation will then restart warn you about not turning it off by the cord, run in safe mode, then restart and should be fine mine is now working

You can try to do what Tloc51 stated and see if that fixes it, but honestly? You just spent a lot of money on the system. Best to call Sony and have them send you a new one and return your current system to them. It's not worth trying to "fix" it and end up out of warranty with a broken system down the road.
