Hey guys, after installing update my TV screen is black, PS4 light is white, 30 min

I just got home and set up my PS4. I downloaded the update through my internet connection. It showed the progress bar but at some point my TV screen went black. The PS4 light is white and my controller light is blue. Its been in this state for 30 minutes now. Im praying this is not a serious issue. Has anyone else experienced this? Before updating I was able to navigate the system and it seemed to function perfectly. ANy help or advise here would be greatly appreciated. Sorry that my first post in this forum is me looking for help.

My advise to you is go to the playstation site and download the update on a USB stick and try installing it that way. I had a friend with a very similar problem.

Dmadman, thanks so much for replying. I really do appreciate it. My only concern with your advice is that the screen is black on the TV. With that being said I have no idea how I'd navigate through the options using the USB angle. Everything was functioning fine prior to downloading the update so I know it's not an HDMi issue. Hoping there's a way around this. I've been amped to get going, first time I preordered lol. I learned a lesson with the PS3. Sony always put out a solid product which I preach constantly. I'm sure things will be made right regardless. My immediate concern is I want this to work now without having to wait for another shipment. I'm sure everyone in this forum understands that

you wouldn't have to. Grab the update and put it your PS4-UPDATE folder. Here is a thread to help with directions -> http://ps4forum.com/391-ps4-tips-tricks/2418-update-ps4-via-usb-flash-drive.html . Then power down your ps4 completely and turn it back on and it will read the update. Theoretically. I haven't had that problem. If not you could try the brick system tips thread in the ps4 tips and tricks board.

also make sure everything is plugged in correctly to your tv.

Thanlk you so much guys, will post back. The joys and stress of a system launch. To show respect to the Playstation universe I'm still playing on my 1st gen, flip top, backwards compatible PS3 while I've been through 5 XBXs. Im not worried I need to own everything but my respect of quality goes to one company. Simple as that. Lets try this!!

A few people with this here already.
So it seems its probably better to download the update and put it on a USB stick rather than download with PS4?
Still,the console is not out here in AUS for another 2 weeks so perhaps there will be a new update before then.

Well, my PS4 is still not working. I really wish I at least popped Killzone in before downloading the update while it was working. Tough break. I'm hoping getting this rectified doesn't turn into a major hassle. Thanks again guys.
