"High-Power" PS4 Model Something Sony Might Consider, Exec Says Hypothetically

Well at moment its just talk,so who knows.
Would be a first for consoles I think.
In one way we all like more power but I can see the negative side too.
Should we all sell our PS4's and then get new one? etc etc

The problem is reselling would be a lot harder as no one wants the "old PS4" as it may not play the new games.

If they wanna release a new superior hardware, it is better to just release PS5 or something. At least that way current PS4 owners would be less pissed.

Didn't the Xbox do this before with the Xbox Slim? Not a lot of power difference, but added more ports and things like that.

I doubt Sony would really change a lot if they did release an updated version as then you might need multiple versions of games.

Doing slim, power efficient, adding ports, making it cheaper and stuff are ok, its done on previous generations. What they were talking was changing the internal hardware to a more powerful version, so it can run higher quality games. if that happens, some new PS4 games wont likely to run on old PS4s and if they run probably with lower settings.

Sure would be nice if they improved the picture quality. I'm not a serious PC gamer - only played "old school" games; but that seems to be a growing trend in the gaming community. Game consoles need a lot of improvement in order to catch up.
