How many PS4s will be defective at launch?

Well both the manager at Gamestop here says his system was defected and never worked, and the kid who won a system (From Taco bell I imagine) that was in Gamestop says his HDMI port messed up

Gets me worried

PS4 #Breakness awaits

There will not be many defective consoles. There will be very little even consoles like that.

The PS4 is constructed in much the same way as the PS3 Slim. I deduced that the overheating is unlikely, unless you put it in an enclosed area.

On the hardware side, Sony has made good choices, I think. This is surment components qualities. I do not think it will crash your PS4.

Then when you think it is more to this old time. Today, we know how to build a console without problems.
Trust in Sony on this point.

If you hear multiple crashes PS4, you know that they just want to make the wrong ad for Sony.

I think there will be many bricked PS4's and Sony will have a lot of work to do but in the end they'll patch it and fix it. It's the reason I will not be getting a ps4 for at least a month or more. (Plus I'm broke)

I have not seen too many more reports of people getting broken units yet. A few more have surfaced on youtube, but as with any new electronics there will be errors during mass production.

Well, my wife got her PS4 yesterday and barring the nightmare that was PSN, hers has been working perfectly. Mine is scheduled to get here today, but I'll be at work, the wife is supposed to check it out, make sure it works and then hide it from me until 12/25 lol

Well there are reports of PS4's bricking and things not working properly but that's true for any hardware. While I can't say for sure how many consoles won't work, I'm sure that the vast majority will be fine. It's just unfortunate that any will be defective but it's the reality.
