International power supply for the ps4

So I recently bought a ps4 in Canada while I was home before going to the uk for a year. I was told (and saw on some forums) that the power supply was rated for universal usage as long as you had an adapter for the cord. Now that I'm here though I'm still hesitant to plug it in, especially with playstations official statement being not to do it. Is it true that they have an internal power supply or am I going to have to wait until I buy a converter of some description? Has anyone tried just the adapter?

Is canada 220v or 110? what about UK?
As far as I know if the output matches, you have no problem.

We are 110 here in canada. UK would be 220.
As for answering the question I don't really want to since I don't know for sure.
