Is Burn Out Paradise the Best Racing Game You Ever Played?

Frankly, for me yes it is, now bare with me I was traditionally a NFS guy but the franchise peaked at Most Wanted and has been on a downward spiral ever since, Grand Tourismo seemed like all it was interested in was making the cars look and handle more realistically without much attention to the actual game play, Burn Out for me was a breath of fresh air, I personally love mayhem and destruction so you can imagine my excitement when a game that rewards you for doing that came to fruition, it reached a personal best in Burn Out revenge and just kept on getting better with subsequent titles.

I'm not so much into video games but I do love Burnout Paradise, I have played others like NFS and Gran Turismo which to me are a little more realistic, but I still feel that Burnout is the best among them, as it's just such a satisfyingly fun game to play!

I had to DL this again last night. For some reason I lost the bikes, Even the toy bike? once I re DL'ed it the bikes were back. It is defiantly on of the funnest racing games I have ever played. I have LAN parties with my family and we always have a blast. If you haven't tried the newest NFS Most Wanted you should. It is basically the same game as paradise city. The difference is of course a new city which is surprisingly big. I would say it is as big if not bigger then paradise city. Another thing is the licensed cars, and lots of them. The only down fall of the game is the jack spots (where you get the cars). For some reason they thought it was a good idea to put the DLC cars in the game. when you pull up to a DLC car you don't own it tells you you need to purchase to drive. Not a game breaker but why put them in if they know you cant drive them?

Certainly not the best, I even prefer older Burnout games over it, but Paradise is pretty damn fun regardless.

I adore Burnout Paradise, I bought it a day after I bought my PS3 and played it solidly online for about a year. I love both NFS: Most Wanted's too, but I think Paradise is probably my favourite game of all time. I'm replaying it at the moment having got it for £4 in the PSN sale.

I love Burnout Paradise mostly due to the unique type of racing game it is. Doing takedowns are so satisfying, the racing speeds are insane and require you to make split second decisions which heightens the excitement. It's the closest thing you can get to an adrenaline rush when you're playing a game! Also, QuestFerret I can't believe I missed that in the sale - I sold Burnout ages ago and never got around to buying it again.

Of the Burn Out series I'd say it's probably the best, but not the best racing game I've played, Most Wanted has those honors.

I like the older versions a lot more, but this is definitely one of my top racing games on my list. I agree with Ghost of Crash, NFS would probably hold that title, but it's okay as I don't really consider Burnout to be exclusively a racing game anyway. It's more like Battle Royale type of game to me, only with cars, and Road Rage and Crash being my favorite mini games, the racing bit of it isn't really what entices me when it comes to this game.
