Is DualShock 4 good for shooters?

I don't really have a problem with the current DualShock 3 when it comes to shooters. But after reading bits from the article, sounds like we're in for a treat with the DS4!

I have the dualshock 3 also and have no problem its a great controller really i haven't tried the 4 but it seems not much different if i was you keep your current and use it for shooters i don't have no problems with mine.

I've never had a problem, but ive heard the additional sensitivity on ds4 will make them truly spectacular at fps

The DS3 was fine from shooters from my little experience. The DS4 might be better though. Still, nothing beats keyboard + mouse when it comes to FPS...

Really? How?

My thumbs always keep slipping from the thumbsticks they're so slippery. I've always hated the controller. I always preferred the Xbox 360 one.

But loving the look of DualShock 4 and hopefully the feel would also be amazing!

Really? I never had such an issue with DS3. Hell, the only thing I dislike about the Dualshock controllers is the stick placement, I prefer the 360's controller's stick placement. Actually, I prefer the 360's controller overall, but yeah... never had an issue with the DS3.

Once again, will going to buy a pair of triggers for the controller, because i don't like that small trigger that the dualshock has. Now, with that simplistic design, i wonder how will the trigger be like.

Yeah, like a few others here, I've never had a problem with DualShock controllers and in fact prefer them over Xbox controllers. To me, Xbox controllers always felt awkward in my hand to the point where I never really liked playing with them. Still, it's great to see that the DualShock 4 is an improvement over the DualShock 3. Really excited to try it out.

I felt like the Xbox 360 controller provided for more accurate shooting as compared to the Dual Shock 3. However, that's a pretty minor issue. I know that the DS 4 would a great improvement over the DS3. Though I have some concerns with the slapped in touch pad, I still can't wait to get my hands on it.

To fix your problem I'd get a pair of KontrolFreeks. They even make them concaved just like the Xbox so you can achieve that same feel and it provides more grip. The only problem I faced with the Dualshock 3 was L1 and R1 being so small that my finger would slip off here and then. This would make me mess up my shot or get out of ADS and probably die.

Or just use rubber thumb grips,if you dont want kontrol freeks which extend the sticks.
Rubber thumb grips may be all you need.Various ones are available.

I needed those Pelican trigger attachments for the DS3 triggers. I have small hands and those trigger were way to low and seems to really need to be pressed to register. Honestly, I have gotten used to the 360 controller but it is good to see the improvements here.

Was there negative reception for the PS3 controller like that? If so I didn't agree with that. My hands aren't giant gorilla fists, so the PS3 is actually just right-sized for me, and I never had a problem with it for twitch FPS games or 3rd person shooters. Still, if they are refining it even more, then I'm cool with that. I love the new grips of the new controller the most, personally, I always like a rubber grip on my controllers, and had to put a sleeve on the PS3 ones.

We won't really know until we actually get it, but I never had an issue with the Dualshock controller. I have man hands, but they are delicately made man hands and the controller has always worked well for me. That said I'm not a shooter junkie so I don't know.

I've never had a problem with the Dualshock controller. I've always thought that once I got used to a game that the controller was never a problem for me. All of the big three's controllers have been fine to me. I've been able to play well and get through games without much of a problem.

I've personally always loved the Sony Dualshock controllers and don't see where the complaints come from.

I actually had more discomfort with the husky Xbox 360 controllers moreso than the dualshock 3.

The Dualshock 4 isn't that much different either so I doubt it's an issue whether or not they're good for shooters or not.

I never really had a prob with previous DS controllers either, but the simple fact is the DS4 improves upon them and is..well...just better again.
