Is it a good idea to get the ps4 camera

I was wondering if it is worth getting the ps4 camera. i heard it did some of the stuff the xbox one can do with its kinect. what all can it do and should i buy it

the xbox kinect is better from what I have read.. Technically that is..

I don't have it.. Unless you play a game that requires it, I wouldn't get it. But that is my 2 cents.

I didn't get it yet, but may get it at some point. The demo's they showed looked neat, but not something I would use very often.

I had kinect fr my 360, and used it twice in 2 years.

Technically the Kinect is better from my understanding but I'm still not a fan of it. The problem isn't the peripherals it's that no thought is but into the games. Other than Just Dance very few motion controls games are actually any good. Fighter Within on the Xbox One is one of the worst things I've ever played.

My Kinect is turned off on my xbox 1, complete waste that I HAD to pay for it when I bought the Xbox. At least sony gave the option to buy it!

I don't really like games that need cameras so I wouldn't get one. It really depends on your gaming needs and style. If you like playing those types of games then it makes sense to get one. Technically, I would get the kinect because it reads a little better, but if you don't have an xbox then go for it.

A gimmick that at the moment hasn't shown me anything promising to buy it yet, maybe in the future but not this year i dont think.

For now, not so much since all the camera's got right now is the Playroom. Perhaps, wait for a few months to see what kind of games are going to get announced for the camera. The PS Camera isn't as advanced as Kinect 2.0, that I can tell you. It's slightly better than the original Kinect because it's more responsive from what I've heard.
