Is it too soon? Or should i get one now?

Well things are a bit complicated for getting a PS4 here in Argentina.

Just to give you an idea, i work full time for about $6000 AR$ a month, a PS4 costs $8000 alone. Imported stuff is really expensive here for the time being.

Should I buy a PS4 now? Should I wait a bit till it goes down a bit and gets more games?

I do have a nice PC rig to fulfill my game hunger for the time being so i think i'd be good if i waited, BUT i don't wanna miss out on cool games with a good multiplayer potential and playing them after their community moves to some other game.

Wow. Can't believe how expensive it is over there.

If it were me, I would wait for a price drop. Especially since you've mentioned you have a decent PC. Right now there are a few decent PS4 games to play, but there are even better titles coming out later on. Concerning the games now and their multiplayer, I am pretty sure the community won't be going anywhere for quite a while.

That's just my opinion though.

That is incredibly expensive it's like nearly £600 as opposed to £350 in the UK. Are the games equally as expensive?

I think I would also wait given there is only really Infamous at the moment that isn't available on PC and if you have a decent rig you can get some great games.

COD, BF4 and Fifa are probably the best online and all available on PC.

Driveclub could change things if it's epic when it eventually comes out!

I'm not sure. Over time, it will be more recommended to get a PC. However, console exclusives are going to be greater and more.

Sheesh! When I read how much it costs for you opposed to what you make...I don't think that's a good move. That's not fair to you. x_x I guess it depends on what you have saved up now. As in what your budget looks like, but still...That's a bit ridiculous and unfair to you. I owned the PS4 since launch and I don't regret it, but I knew what was coming out and when beforehand. Some people were disappointed because they didn't think before making the purchase. Games are just starting to come out here and there. Started with inFamous and now more games I enjoy are coming out in the next few months. In your situation I would still wait a bit. You're not missing a whole lot, but sometimes the gamer in you wants things now, but it's up to you if you feel it is necessary.

Man! I'm sorry to hear it is that expensive for you!! In your situation I think it would be best to just wait a while, especially if you have a PC that can handle today's games. The biggest things your missing at the moment are Killzone and Infamous and since Infamous is a single player game, you won't have to worry about missing any of the experience down the road.

In my opinion you would be crazy to spend that much on a PS4. The selection of games doesn't justify the price you'd have to pay. As you said you have a PC that can fulfil your gaming needs at the moment. My advice is wait for the price drop and by the time that happens the game selection will have improved.

Well my thoughts exactly with all of you, I just have this ITCH to get it thats all, but i'll prioritize other things.

Thing is guys, so you can get a grasp of the situation. 1 US$ = roughly 9 AR$

That's all good and sound till you reach CUSTOMS. Which will charge you a whopping 100% of the product's value you're bringing from the exterior if it's worth more than 300US$ (and that's once a year, if you bring more stuff after the 300US$ limit you have to pay anyway).

So say you would wanna bring a PS4 to sell here in Argentina, PS4 is 400US$, multiply that by 9 that gives us 3600 AR$, with a 100% tax thats 7200AR$, plus you need to make a profit, so sellers sell it here for 8000-9000 AR$.

It's just really hard with anything right now. I think there's nothing harder nowadays here to be a musician AND a gamer. I had to upgrade my gfx with a used 660ti instead of a new one, and disregarding customs what i paid for the used one would be what a new one is worth in USA. Riddiculous

I figured it would be the same throughout South America considering the news with the PS4 in Brazil being extremely expensive at launch. The main issue is (as Wolf said) customs, but also that Sony doesn't have plants in Brazil and Argentina. Without plants within the country so that they could just ship them out and not deal with import taxes/customs you get this ridiculous price.

I'd say you should wait Wolf.

Just wait a few years more. I mean its totally expensive from where you live and investing on a PS4 when you still have a decent gaming PC is kind of not the best idea since the PS4 doesn't really have that much good exclusives yet. Just wait a couple years more when the good games are really on the market, and besides, the PS3 lasted a good 8 years before being replaced by the PS4, just wait.

Well in Iran we have similar situation, but not as awful as yours, here I got my PS4 for about 650USD which is really expensive compared to people's income.

Anyway I recommend to get one end of 2014 or early 2015.
Probably during holidays it will become expensive, so get it either before the holidays or after it.

I think that you will have to wait quite a while still if you are waiting for a price drop. However, I think that this is the right action for you. There aren't any unmissable games out yet, and any games that you do want to play will still exist in a year or so when you finally buy a PS4.

Is there anyway to purchase it off of Ebay and not declare that it is worth that much? That's the only idea I have. If not I wouldn't pay that much for a PS4

Wow that price is ridiculous. There's not that many games out yet and considering the price of the console (and probably a full price game) I don't think it's worth it. Not unless you're very certain that the games you buy will last you for quite a while. You're better off sticking with PC for now. There's not THAT big of a difference as far as PS4 exclusives outside of Infamous. Knack and Killzone were meh and I haven't played MLB the Show.

That is way too expensive for a PS4. I would definitely hold out until the price goes down significantly. If shipping is not the problem for the price being so high, you are better off finding someone on ebay or someone else online to sell and ship a ps4 to you.

No way. I would NEVER spend that much money on a PS4. I wouldn't pay eight grand for a PS5 if it were waved in my face tomorrow! If I were you, I would definitely wait for prices to come down. No joke!
