Is Sony Giving Up On Vita?

Well if you think logically, the portable gaming systems is a dying market. You don't see much people with those around you anymore. The mobile phone gaming market it the one with money in it and obviously they would rather go into that than the portable gaming systems. I personally think they should try and just keep on working on it as a niche market.

You obviously are not aware of the 3DS's success. It started slow, but has already passed up the Wii in lifetime sales.

People used the same "mobile gaming" argument when the 3DS was struggling. At the end of the day, it comes down to games. The 3DS has a strong lineup now and is thriving. The Vita just needs a few must have games for the Vita to pick up steam.

I've never really been intrested in the Vita, maybe because I'm not much of a mobile gamer, also because most (maybe all) games are available on PS3. If I had to spend money on a mobile gaming console, I'd go for 3DS.

Dame6089, I love your profile picture. Better call Saul :D

I've never had the desire for a Vita. Love my 3DS, as I loved my DS Lite and DSi XL. Especially with my being able to play my DS games on everything, Nintendo has me on the handheld market for life. Plus I can get my Mario and Zelda fixes this way...

I would not be surprised if they gave up on the Vita. I never considered buying it and I buy almost every console/handheld system available. There are very few that I do not own and Vita is one of them. I just thought that the 3DS was far superior and I would not have time to play two hand held consoles. None of my gaming friends bought Vita either. It's a failure.

Good point on the not owning two portables. I wouldn't go as far to call the Vita a failure, but no one can argue that it has been dominated by the 3DS. If 90% of 3DS owners won't buy a Vita, that is millions of customers gone for the Vita. Let's see what happens in the next few years though.

Its important to look at the PS 4 and Vita as almost a hand to a body. The Vita is going to be able to function largely with the PS 4. A lot of functionality will be introduced as the PS 4 saturates the market. I think that mobile gaming has a big life ahead of it still.
