Is the PS4 Worth It?

I have been reading conflicting reviews everywhere I look. I need some help making a decision about the PS4. Do you think it is worth it to upgrade from the ps3?

To be honest; this is my opinion though only. I think it's worth it to wait. I mean playing Battlefield 4 is ****ING AMAZING especially if you don't have a pc great enough to play it in full high settings. The difference between having only 24 in a game then having 64 makes this game 100x better. I never played it on PC so I missed out on the 64 man thing. Anyways, other than that, COD: Ghosts isn't really much of a change, polygons are prettier but not by much.

Just know this, when PS2 came out the graphics were good, new, but once developers started getting used to the PS3 and understanding it, we have games like Skyrim now and MGS4. Beautiful games that fully use the power of the PS3. Now all we need to do is wait til more games come out where devs are fully understanding every capability of the PS4 and utilizing it.

For me, I would wait. I do have one but it f'd up and I sent it into Sony.

Should I just wait until games are being released specifically for PS4 or should I wait for the next gen console to be released in a few years?

If you can afford a PS4 right now, save that money for Black Friday OR around Christmas or around January. I wish I could afford a PS4 but I have kids to raise and even though my wife wants a ps4 and the kids, gotta pay them bills. Long story short though; make sure to get one whenever you can. They will update the PS4 and I believe the system was made to be fixed through updates and new features. They will not make another ps4 better than the one that just launched. They might just make a thinner one but that's about it.

So even if it's buggy or you don't have many games. Just having one will allow you to enjoy the many features. Battlefield 4 is actually a great game like dark said. I played it at gamestop, the demo kiosk and that was the first time I tried it in graphics like that. You see it on ps3, then ps4, it's amazing how big of a difference it is.

Yeah what he said, but, it wouldn't hurt to wait. I mean if you're not interested in any of the games out now, just wait. My ps4 is at Sony and I have to wait a bit. I might as well have waited for a ps4 and maybe this wouldn't have happened :'(

Personally, I would wait. There is nothing that really shows next generation graphics. I had mine preordered for a long time as I just didn't want to have track one down if supply was low. I mainly bought it with the intentions of playing Second Son and Wachdogs. Now that those titles are delayed, it really is not great to play Knack or Resogun which are the only games that look better. I am not a fan of FPS so it may be worth it to -play Killzone on multiplayer mode. As a PS Plus member from the beginning, I can tell you that right now the free games are not worth much. Resogun is a pretty neat reimagining of Defender but the rest of the PS + games are horrible. Sony probably should have included Knack with the PS plus membership.

I am in this for the exclusives such as anything by Naughty Dog, Infamous 3(and hopefully 4), and the others. By the consoles for the games you like to play.

Yeah dude you should wait. I mean, they will probably fix anything on ps4's before selling them and shipping them to stores so everything is a-ok. That way they can fix their million plus launch consoles but also launch new consoles (same of course) but with all firmware and such from their past mistake.

Just wait it out unless you can't wait any longer and it's killing your entire gaming needs and you must get it hahaa

I'm waiting until the price drops. Currently I have a gaming PC and a 3ds and maybe a Wii U later on in the year. But to be honest the price is too much and the line up hasn't yet convinced me. I will of course be buying one, but maybe mid to late 2014.

It depends. How important is it to you to know that you have the latest and greatest? I was a late adopter to the PS3, and because of that I missed some really good games. I refused to do that with the PS4, so I preordered. It is worth it for me, because now I can take my time enjoying the games and beating them as the library is thin and won't grow substantially any time soon. Some great games are coming, but they are months away.

So, is the PS4 worth it right now? No. There just aren't enough games to spend $400 on the console. The games we do have look like really good PS3 games rather than PS4 games. In the long run it will be worth it. I can guarantee it. But at this point in time it just isn't. UNLESS, like me, you want to have the latest and greatest and you want to get to work on the game library right away. If you can afford it, and you want to be able to own one and start playing the games right now, go for it. If money is tight and you're wondering as a gamer if you NEED it, then no. You don't. There isn't much right now you can get with the PS4 that you can't get with the PS3, other than remote play (for Vita owners); some upgrades to the games; a better UI; and a much greater controller. They are nice upgrades, but aren't necessary yet as the PS3 still has games on the way.

Still, you can't really go wrong either way. If you get it now, you won't have to worry about purchasing it later. If you wait, you will give Sony some time to fix some of the glitches and such and also have a larger library of games when you become an adopter.

Honestly, the PS4 is REALLY worth it. Sony has invested a LOT of money into it and the features are just too good for its price. If you are a fan of the PS3 then I can almost guarantee you will love the PS4. The graphics and games that will come out for the PS4 is just too awesome!

I can't really have an objective opinion on this, because I haven't owned a PS3 myself. But it think it really is, from what I've seen in many (and I mean MANY) videos and pics I've seen of the PS4.

I bought one, it should arrive tomorrow, and I can't wait! I'm 100% sure I won't be dissapointed.
Oh, forgot to mention, everything will now probably focus around these next-gen consoles, so there will be many gems to play.
