When I play SFIV (or when I used to, since I was so frustrated that I quit), my joystick wouldn't seem to work right. Sure, I could get some of the moves to work, but not all of them. Since I use a charge character (Guile), it's imperative that the joystick is on point so I can play at my best.
I tried everything I could think of, ordered replacement parts, order a new joystick, but somewhere down the line I would continue to have issues. I know in arcades I see the dude calibrating the sticks when some idiots bangs and pulls on them trying to win, but can the same be done for the ones we purchase for home use?
