Just announced: PS Vita TV for PS3/PS4!

During Sony's pre-TGS press conference today, they announced PS Vita TV!

What is PS Vita TV? Mainly, PS Vita TV will let you play your Vita games on your TV using a DualShock 3 controller. And that's not all.

You will be able to use video streaming services like Hulu, as well as let you play the PS4 via Remote Play with the DualShock 4 which Sony has mentioned will arrive at a later date via a system update.

PS Vita TV can play PSone Classics and PSP games through it as well as connect to the PlayStation 4 so that you can play Vita games through PS4.

PS Vita TV will launch in Japan on November 14th, and will cost 9,480 Yen ($95). A special verison of it, packing an 8 gig Vita memory card and a DualShock 3 controller, will cost 14,980 ($150). Unfortunately a western dates has yet to be revealed, but look out for it soon!

Interesting, it's a cool feature and all but I would prefer to play my PlayStation on my TV anytime

Interesting. I mean, I won't use it, but it'll be interesting to see how it's used. It definitely seems like they're trying to beat out Microsoft at this whole entertainment center thing.

Its not just that but you dont forget with this you can also play your Vita games on your TV using your PS3 (or PS4 I imagine) controller.

So many good things and bad things at the same time! How will they handle the back touchscreen? The already said that the front touchscreen is controlled by pressing L3 and R3 and a cursor appears on screen to do what you need, but what about the back one? How will the games look on a full HD screen, specially PS1 and PSP games, will they look all blurry?

Only $95. The price point just completely killed the Ouya and any other $99 android gaming platform. Now, if Sony can just give Playstation mobile devs full access to the rear touch, analog controllers and face buttons (of the vita) there is no logical reason independent developers won't flock to it.

Just so I understand, can I have this, leave my PS4 running at home and use Remote Play to play my PS4 at home wherever I am?

I heard this sold out in Japan pretty quickly. I am very curious to try this out for myself, and hoping that they release it for the international market soon. It would actually be very useful in my house since we sometimes transfer the whole console when the entertainment room is being used.

The size of 6 X 10 cms is great. I will surely be getting the PS Vita for T.V. I am still waiting for its availability in my country India.

That's pretty interesting but I doubt I'd ever use it if I got a PS Vita. I'd just prefer to play on a PS4.

I wondered if they were going to do this since there was already so much Vita functionality built into the PS4. That's really awesome. I can finally play the Vita's Uncharted with a proper controller, except the part where they make you clean stuff off in order to add time to the amount of play time that's in the game.

This really cool though, its nice to have that available; especially when your buddy brings his Vita over and wants to show you something.

Very interesting! I wonder how this innovation will change the playing field when it comes to streaming games. I honestly can't wait for this! Kudos to Sony.
