I did not play the moon mission in the beta, but that was actually pretty intense... the difficulty spike in this game from the alpha, to beta, to present is pretty steep. I'm still not sure what the hell the story is, or why I should care about doing any of the things I am doing.

RPGs. As an RPG, Destiny is kind of meh. As a shooter? It is near perfect. I really enjoy the PvP (basically just standard shooter affair) because I enjoy Halo. But right now the core gameplay, isn't quite up to speed. The game gives you little reason to explore outside of the quest at hand and its pacing is weird. Where is the lore, Bungie? The whole experience is right now, I am only level 7, pretty linear. But like most MMOs I suspect this to open up. Fingers crossed.

I've only played a couple hours so far. It is still a good shooter with addicting loot. It seems like an overall fine game.

You're Sir_Ridge!? I was wondering who that was. Why did I not put this together. You like the loot system? Meh. I have only played for about two hours, does more loot start dropping...?

Yeah I feel the same way as far as plot goes so far. Really generic story so far and no motivation. There isn't even a captivating central character like MC :/ Oh well, hopefully it picks up near the middle or when we actually start to hit the level cap.

I'm a little further than that and it definitely looks like it has opened up since I got past all the stuff that was in the Beta. Still doesn't really seem expansive, but it's still early.

Is this a game you need to be online for? Or just certain elements? I do not care about online play, I like story mode best.

The game is online only. If you have a PS3 then you do not need PS+, obviously (since it is free). If you own a PS4, you need to also purchase PS+. Despite this, you do not have to play with others and can move entirely through the story at your own pace, alone. Yes you will run into others while online, but they will not take away from the experience or hinder it.

Well I purchased it before reading this. I played a little bit yesterday with no problems and I do not have PS+. I certainly saw user names of people running around. Is this game going to ask me soon for PS+ or can I play this game without it?

I think on PS4 you may just need PS+ for strike missions.

I'm saying strike missions only just because I noticed on the little mission descriptions for strikes on the map it mentions PS+, and I haven't noticed it anywhere else.
I may be completely wrong..

It is on a PS4. Probably only certain things can be accessed with PS+ as Ridge suggested.
