Kontrol Freeks

I'm wanting to know this as well as to be honest don't they just provide better control and grip? Genuinely I've only ever seen reviews done by big Youtubers who obviously paid to promote the product or are given something for giving a positive review.

I personally have avoided investing in them because it's costly as I believe they are US based company and add on UK shipping and it costs you a bundle to get them. I hope someone here has invested in them. However I quite like the gripping of the PS4 controller so I don't know if Kontrol Freeks would help me.

So I'm like you, seeking an answer....

I have them for PS3 and the ones I have fit fine on the PS4 sticks, however I now use a diff type,I use Orb ones, they look like big rubber tabs instead, but do the same thing and are softer on my thumbs.

Here's a pic I found,its on DS3 but fits fine on my DS4.

I did have and try just regular caps but these dont add height to the sticks.
If you want that you need Kontrol Freek or these Orb ones.
Though I do know that Kontrol Freek have a few diff height ones too.

As to whether they help you, well I when I started using them years ago I wasnt sure if it improved my game or not,but I kep at it.Then one day when I decided to try and play again with them off I found it difficult so put them on again.

The idea is

I think you become conditioned to play with them and you feel odd if you don't play with them, I guess that's also one of the reasons I haven't tried them out.

Thanks Oberon. I found the ORB set of 4 on ebay for just over $5. They're coming from the UK so they'll take some time to get here, but for that price I don't mind waiting.

Don't get them unless you hate the DS4 analog sticks. Seriously, you will hate them. Then again it depends on your play style. If you have small hands though you're screwed ha. All in all, I wouldn't get them because once you do, you're going to feel very odd holding the controller. I still have some and I used them for 2 weeks of at least 2 hours of gaming a day. Oh and for FPS... hell no.

To each his own though. We all have different perspectives.

I think controller accessories are extremely useless. Anyone remember those FPS glasses? I haven't tried them but I hear it's just a pair of glasses that look cool but does nothing for you. I mean, I can see if it makes the screen look more HD than it is or magnifies your site a tad bit lulz

Hahaha I have not heard of any glasses. I wear eye glasses already and I have a huge issue with glare and contrast when I play. I am going next month to order some new glasses with good lenses to help with that though. So I can see how a pair of anti glare glasses could help some people.

I already ordered the 4 pack of ORB thumb grips. They were only$5.60 , so not too expensive to try and toss if I don't like them.

these are the same thing I ordered. I'm on my phone and have the other link on my computer at work.

Yeah, they are just caps,I bought the exact same ones for my missus, she has them on her controller.
The high ones I believe are called ' Thumb grip pro'.
If you still want them this is the cheapest Ive found: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Griff-Au...-Zubehor-Gamepad-Kontrolle-Halt-/300996157969
The description says for DS3 but so are mine, and they fit fine on my DS4.

Do you feel they have a great impact on your gaming performance or has it become a placebo now that you've used them for so long?

Caps are fine and shouldnt feel different but extenders on the hand yeah. Some people love em.
Like I said in my earlier post,as for me Im so used to them now that if I play with them off I find it difficult. But that doesnt mean you or anyone else would be the same.
Check reviews and yt vids or people opinions, may swear by them.

I dont like mushrooms, but many people love em too. :o

Haven't tired on my PS4, on my Xbox 360 they were nothing more than a different feel. I honestly wouldn't say that they gave me an advantage but rather I just got used to how they played. You basically just have a thumbstick which gets easier grip and just in general feels as bit different on your thumb/hand.

I received my ORB thumb grips for the DS4 the other day and had a chance to play with them installed last night. The package contained two styles of grips, convex and concave. I put a set on each of my controllers and played BF4 with each controller. I found the convex set cumbersome and uncomfortable. The concave set raised the height of the thumbsticks by about 3 mm and was very comfortable. I found myself really enjoying the motion of the thumbstick during game play. I still want to try the Kontrol Freaks, but for now, I like the concave thumb grips from ORB and for the $5 I spent, I think was a good value.

I will post pictures tomorrow.
