Line across my screen

OK. I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right spot but here goes. I recently bought a brand new PS5 from Walmart. I went to gamestop and purchased 5 games. 3 of those games are brand new still in the package but the other 2 were used. I started playing one game and I noticed the line across my screen brand new TV. About both TV and PS5 on the same day. I thought it was from the game because it was one of the used ones. But this line is on every game even the brand new ones. Does anybody have any idea on how to get rid of this line it is very annoying. Thank you very much.

Never, EVER shop from GameStop again. If the issue is from the used games, then if this is recent. Look at the receipt for return policy. Sometimes its 30 days return, 60 days return.

Try the sealed games. If they have the line again, the console is the issue. Send it to Sony so they can fix or replace chips.

Hopefully you updated your console before posting this thread. It's also important to bring this up too: Did you update your TV? Is your TV HDMI 2?

It's the same with the new games as well. PS5 updated last night and a couple times before. Didn't know my tv could be updated. It's on HDMI 1.

Yes, your TV can be updated. This is 2023, EVERY TV is like a computer, especially if it is smart TV.

So, since you said this TV is HDMI 1, I recommend to either return the TV, or buy a new one. Look for a HDMI 2 or higher TV. Your PS5 is future proofed to be forward compatible with HDMI 2 standards. There's a lot of HDMI 2 variants, but look up YouTube and do your research. "Best TV for PS5," is one example.
